Hi,
I timed myself per set of questions (a page or so at a time) on the quant section of the
OG. However, I took the test yesterday and messed up my timing on the quantitative (you can see my post about it). I basically spent too long on some problems that I "could" solve, and had 30 seconds to guess on the last four questions of the test.
So, I am now going to go back and make sure I can solve ALL the quantitative questions on the
OG in under two minutes (not just groups of them in under 20 minutes or something). I think this will help me when I retake it.
I'd say it is important to time yourself, particularly if you tend to get nervous. I wasted a few minutes in the exam rereading questions because I was nervous (something that didn't happen while doing the
OG obviously). So, next time I go in I definitely plan on having more control over my timing, now that I'm not so scared about the questions themselves.
If timing yourself makes you nervous, try timing yourself only on hard questions, maybe. Or get a friend to tell you how long you spent on a question (ie. he/she can time you, but you're not in control of the timer so maybe you won't get nervous). Good luck!
