Dear all,
I am a Jordanian citizen aspiring for a top MBA course (INSEAD, LBS, HARVARD, WHARTON, COLUMBIA, BERKELY etc)
I have prepared thoroughly for almost four months now and I am extremely frustrated and disheartened from my performance. Here is my story:
I have studied the MANHATTAN guides from cover to cover for 2.5 months, studied the
GMAT official guide and did approximately 1700 quant questions/1500 Verbal. I also sat the GMATPREP examinations available for free and scored 720 and 710. I sat the exam in August and scored 600 (Cancelled the score as I did not think its truly reflective of my capabilities).
I did not give up and got private tutoring through Kaplan in Dubai to hone my exam taking strategies- After completing 20 hours with KAPLAN tutors, I did three KAPLAN CATS and scored 730, 720, 720. (averaging 49 quant, 39 Verbal) I sat the exam once more and scored 650 48Q 31V).
Once more, I did not give up. I returned to KAPLAN and paid an extra amount of money to have full access to their online portal and access to 9 CATS. I studied their entire program for a month along with GMAC official Quant guide, GMAC official Verbal guide and the results of my KAPLAN CATs are as follows: 690, 710, 720, 730, 720, 720, 720, 720, 720. A week before the official exam I bought the extra GMATprep exam package and sat two exams scoring 730, 740. before you ask, yes, the CATs are all being taken under exam conditions. I sat the exam again today, for the third time, and scored 580 44 Q 26 V !!!!!! I obviously cancelled the score once more
My gmat report currently states: CANCELLED, 650, CANCELLED
I feel like I have completely exhausted my options and I don't know how to tackle this anymore. I am completely and utterly frustrated with my situation because I feel this exam is the only thing coming between me and my dream school and career aspirations. My questions to you are as follows: How do you think I should progress from here, what are the chances of landing a top MBA with a mediocre gmat of 650 and the following credentials... is it worth taking the exam again and risk cancelling my scores for the fourth time if I fail to acquire the target score? Does it hinder my chances having 3 cancelled scores on my gmat report when applying. I am completely gobsmacked by the results, especially that I have consistently scored over 700 in my mocks.... Please advise
