Hi there,

First of all, are you able to retake the GRE soon after you submit your application? If so, I would sign up for a test date and use the optional essay in your application to note that you are planning to retake it and will send your updated score once you have it. Most schools will accept a new test score later. And even if you can't, I would still use the optional essay to address your score and application timing.
But in terms of what to submit, can you submit both scores? I generally think schools appreciate having more data points and a few schools will even take your highest Q and highest V and use that as your score. If you can't submit both, I think that's a really tough call and can make a case to either submit the higher overall, or the higher Q one. I'd look at the school's averages and see how far off you are from each section. And I'd also think about the rest of your profile -- are they seeing strong quant skills elsewhere, like from college courses and/or your work? If not, then I'd go with the higher Q one so at least they feel good about that side of your score.
Hope that helps, and good luck!

I took the GRE a few years back during the Pandemic, just to have it under my belt. Recently I just had a very unique situation at work where I will try to be applying to B-school last minute, and do not have the time to take the test again. (not ideal, but it is what it is.)
Curious what some people would advise on here. The Verbal score is low on both ends, however Im curious which score is better to use on the applications, with the Quant being in a solid place the 2nd go around.
Gre score #1: V:151 Q: 157
Gre score #2: V: 147 Q: 159
Would be great to hear any advice!! Thank you!
