Hi - thanks for writing! First, I think it's good that you realized that you'd like to be on a different path. Digital Marketing is a dynamic, ever-changing field, so the sooner you immerse yourself in it the better!
My one question is - what made you decide to apply to business school this fall, and what is your short and long-term goal? If you're set on doing digital marketing, keep in mind that sometimes, hands-on experience is valued equally, if not more than, an MBA. If you'd like to become a holistic marketing strategist/brand manager, with digital as one area of focus, an MBA would make sense. If you'd definitely like to specialize in digital marketing, what's important is gaining the experience through a direct role.
So in short, the answer to your question depends on why MBA and what you'd like to get out of it.
Hope that helps! Feel free to respond back with this context and I'll do my best to guide you further.

Hello, first some background about myself:
-I'm 25yo living in the United States
-GMAT: 720
-Work experience: 3 years at Deloitte Consulting, now currently a corporate strategy manager at a mi-tier tech company for 6 months
Context: I've realized that strategy roles are not for me. I've always been interested in digital market (SEO, SEM, etc.) but stuck to Consulting and Strategy because the pay was much higher. Since I've realized that I don't want to work in strategy anymore, I figured no is a good time to give digital marketing a try even if I have to take a big salary cut.
Question: I'm concerned that I've only been in this current corporate strategy role for 6 months and if I change jobs to a digital marketing role, I'd be an entry level digital marketer for only ~8-10 months before applying for my MBA. I would like to apply this fall of 2017 and matriculate in 2018. If I change jobs to a digital marketing role, would it severely hurt my chances to get into a top 10 MBA program?
Thank you for your time.
