Hello GMAT Club Tribe,
Few words about me: Male, 37, married with 2 kids and working for more than a decade. Aspire to go back to school at the earliest to reskill and re-energize myself.
As I was looking for GMAT resources, stumbled upon GMAT Club and now fixated as it's a one stop solution for all the GMAT needs.
First and Foremost,
Thank You bb. Your posts are a great start for anyone inclined to start their GMAT journey. For me in particular, being in work from last few years, it was a great enabler to overcome the huge inertia and rustiness.
What I have done till now?• Read few books among the list of books compiled by bb to improve RC. It's time well invested. Addicted to these and plan to digest all as and when time permits.
• Brushed up basics using Veritas Prep Set of 12 books. Made a cheat sheet/notes to keep revising in order to reinforce the basics. Invested almost 3 months for the above two.
• Tool 2 free tests of GMAT Club.
• Took 1st GMATPrep test after above 2 points.
• Took 4 CAT's of Manhatten.
• Analyzed all the CAT's to zero down on areas to be tuned up.
• Nailed AWA section with the help of superb note by fellow GMAT Club member:
chineseburned. Respect for you, my man.Thank you!Where do I stand?• Scores from 550-640 in CAT’s taken till now. Needle shows progress.
What I am doing/planning to do?• Trying to sleep well (7 Hrs at least).
• Meditate for 20 minutes using breathing exercises.
• Plan to take up 2 more CAT's of Manhatten and last GMAT prepTest in next 3 weeks as per real GMAT exam slot.
• Read problem carefully as it's costing me almost 3-5 questions.
• Solve IR exercise as I am still struggling with it.
• Re-read and reflect on sentence correction rules.
• Do not rush in CR question as I am able to score better when reviewing calmly. Also, on an average, I am left with 10+ minutes in verbal.
Why this Post?CAT's given till now made me realize the importance of practicing under the ticking clock. It is a must to do better from one's current potential.
GMAT Club tests are a great tool to think right and on the go when clock is ticking. Need more of these to grease my rusted skills.
Need a bundle (25 to be precise) of Kudos from GMAT Club Tribe to get access to GMAT club tests.
Although, it's a greedy request but I think this is the last thing I could ask from the GMAT club tribe which would enable me to fulfill my dream of [b]writing a 700+ GMAT debrief by coming November end.Feel free to advise.
Thank You for being considerate.
