Since the total sum of each pair is equal to 10 each, the sum must be 30.

The three faces, which we are able to see have a sum of 2+4+8 = 14.
Hence, the three invisible faces will have a sum of 30 - 14 = 16(Option E)

P.S the three invisible faces are opposite to the faces that are displayed.

As it is nowhere mentioned that a number can be used only once, so the face opposite to 2will have 8, face opposite to 4 will have 6 and the face opposite to 8 will have 2
Total - 8+6+2= 16

Straight E.

A cube has 6 faces hence, 3 opposite-face-pairs. Each opposite-face-pair is 10. Total is 3*10=30.
Sum of the the faces not shown= 30-(8+2+4)=30-14=16.
