I love this debrief, Jan! It's funny: there are some incredibly valuable, inspiring stories of GMAT conquests on GMAT Club. Trouble is, for everybody who pulls off a 200-point improvement, there are dozens or hundreds or maybe even a few thousand test-takers who struggle to move the needle. It's refreshing to see an honest story of struggle on here. You're not alone, and your insights are spot-on.

Yup, that's a big mistake! At its heart, the GMAT isn't really a knowledge test, and cramming doesn't usually help much. You're much better off being sharp and well-rested on test day -- that's what will give you that extra bit of crispness to your reading and your logic and your calculations and your time management. And that stuff matters a whole lot more than memorizing one more grammar rule.

I'm excited to see what happens next for you. A 560 on a bad test day gives us plenty of reason to hope for a breakthrough on your next attempt.

And I'm not wise enough to know how the Award Points work, but maybe somebody else will weigh in here. Good luck with your retake, Jan!

Thanks a lot for your feedback. I will give an update when I took my second GMAT. Indeed, there are a lot of incredible debriefs out there so I do not think there is too much to contribute on the different strategies (which I theoretically know how to apply - easier said than done) which were profoundly elaborated from you guys.

GMAT Club is next to e-GMAT, MGMT SC/RC and OG definitely one of my main resources for the next month.
