Hey Guys,

I've been waitlisted after an interview. Any idea about my chances at conversion and when I'll know? Also, has anyone been dinged after an interview or did everyone get admits or waitlisted?

As I can see on the thread stats, only six people got waitlisted. Also, I see two people are dinged after interview. So it's a very positive sign for you. All the best.

Just curious... did anyone that also got dinged... get told that their application would be shared with the FEMBA program for consideration?

Wondering if that's a positive sign or if its a generic offer.

No, it's not generic. I didn't receive any such note. All it said was regret to inform... etc. and a link to re-applicant page on their website.

No one can say. It depends on the number of people not taking up the admit offer. I see some people who are admitted early choose Booth or some other school over UCLA. That ought to open up spaces. But UCLA also played it safe this year and made sure the yield is high. So it's a mixed sign as of now. But overall putting you in a waitlist after interview means they want to take you but there's no space. That's a very positive sign. Let's hope you will make it through.

May be some current student can comment on this?

Someone mentioned this earlier in the thread but looks like UCLA might be calling the "superstar" applicants to interview first. I wonder if they are maybe reviewing applications in decreasing order of GMAT or GPA. I've been following closely all the applicants getting invites and they seem to have "high" "GMAT scores. Don't think I've seen anyone under a 700 and I've been seeing a lot of 740's, 750's. Maybe these will come later. Take this theory with a grain of salt, because it's only based on my stalking this board as well as other Business School forums :)

I think you are right. All the early invites went to the ones with high GMAT scores.

I don't think this is true. I got an early interview invite from R2, but my GMAT score is anything but stellar. The rest of my profile is quite good, though.

Mine still says Submitted and no interview invite. No email or anything from UCLA too. Really don't know what to take of this. probably it's time to give up :(. By the way, can i know if you guys applied in R1 or R2?

Dinged but as much as I would have liked to go to UCLA, I think it worked out. UCI feels like a great fit and I'm glad I'm going there next year.

Check your email (maybe spam folder). I got the email around 8pm pst. No calls for me, maybe they will call me personally tomorrow.

Nothing in the spam folder either.
Does that mean I got nothing? Won't they be sending out official we-were'nt-able-to-offer-you-a-scholarship letters?

Nope, I learnt about my acceptance through applyyourself at around 5pm PST. At around 9pm PST I received an email from [email protected] about the fellowship offer.

I guess scholarship is something you applied for and fellowship is merit-based. The email says "Our selection decision was based on your outstanding record of excellence in scholarship and leadership, as well as the unique perspective you will bring to the UCLA Anderson MBA Class of 2016."

I read somewhere that fellowships are handed out to the top 1/3rd of students. Not sure how they define top 1/3rd, but I do have a high GMAT/GPA. I'm sure more fellowships are still available given that they still have R1 waitlisters and R2/R3 applicants. Also, some people who have been offered fellowship may decide to attend elsewhere.

I got a separate email about fellowship about 1.5 hours after receiving the first email that decision was available. Also received a call from my interviewer about my admission and fellowship.

To those who were waitlisted in Round 1, I found this in the admissions blog from last year. It looks like we will receive an update by the Round 2 deadline at which point we may be accepted, denied or asked to remain on the waitlist for the final round of admissions. Hope this helps. Same pattern here. Acceptance at Applyyourself at around 5 pm PST and mail about fellowship 7 pm PST. No calls.

Invited to interview in October, but didn't send degree certificate by the time the released early decisions.
