Oh, I am an applicant from Thailand so I already decided that I will do a Skype interview. They assume that too so they just tell me about it I guess. (Weird, I know)
I am more confused of why it has to be Skype from Aussie not from Ithaca.

But they did give you an option do an on-campus right? I'm waiting for the official email to schedule my on-campus.

They actually didnt say anything. They just told me to choose the date. I replied the email back asking about Skype option and they sort of didnt answer or anything just tell me the time and date. I have to ask if it's a Skype or alumni interview. I guess you can just email them stating that you want an on campus interview.

Now I wish I can go to on campus interview ugh.

I'm doing mine on-campus. I'm sorta hoping Stern gets back to me soon to so I can hit two birds with one stone. We're from the same geographical region, so a plane ride to New York is by no means an easy task.

kupochan, I see you applied to Stern too! Round 1 or Round 2? Outright Ding? or did you interview with them?

Email finally came. Interview Confirmed.

Just curious, are you even considering Johnson given your Tuck admit?

Great question and one that I've been wrestling with this whole week. I wasn't expecting an admit at Tuck; I thought my interview was awful. Thus I had become more emotionally invested in Johnson. If I miraculously get a good scholarship at Johnson (park fellows?), that might sway me. We'll see.

To those who got the "open ended tell me when you're free" interview invite. Have you guys tried scheduling your interview on a Saturday? I know they're holding a super Saturday interview session next weekend, but after that, would you know if they'll allow it?

I'm planning to head to campus but ideally interview on a Saturday morning.

By the way, does anyone know what the interview rate of Johnson is? i.e. how many % of the applicants they interview? Just curious if they're pretty "selective" already in that aspect.

Thanks!

This 2012 article https://poetsandquants.com/2012/11/15/th ... agement/4/

"What percentage of the pool do you interview?

We get about 2,200 applicants. We did about 700 to 800 interviews last year."

Considering a decent YoY increase from 2012 to 2015, Cornell must have received about 3000 applications from R1 and R2 with about 2000 of them coming in R2 alone. That would mean they must have invited around ~600 R2 applicants for the interview. With a total class size of 280, and R1 admissions, we would have about 160 seats available for R2. Do the math.

I applied for round 2 and got a ding w/o interview on Jan. Pretty devastated but I had to move on. I hope you get your interview from Stern. :)

I actually did the math a while back and it ends up around 60-70% based on 2012 numbers. https://gmatclub.com/forum/johnson-cornell-class-of-2017-calling-all-applicants-172804-220.html#p1438684

I also talked to Eddie Asbie and he gave me rough numbers for applications in R1 & R2 (~600 & ~1100 respectively) https://gmatclub.com/forum/johnson-cornell-class-of-2017-calling-all-applicants-172804-600.html#p1467080

There's also a rolling round and I'm not sure how many people apply/get in at that time.

Are these numbers for the 2Y program? 60-70% of 700-800 will roughly be between 420-560. Johnson's class size for a 2Y program is around 280. 280/700~800 will be close to 35-40%.

True, but you have to consider yield as well. Not every accepted will enroll. I think historically the yield at Johnson has been around 50-60% (GMAT Club publishes 55%). Based on a 22% acceptance and 2,200 applications, 484 people were accepted in 2012. With a class of 280 that's about a 58% yield. ;)

Based on last year's thread and this year's R1 thread, I come up with this solution.

Class of 2016:
Round 1: Interviewed / Admitted = %79
Round 2: Interviewed / Admitted = %66
Round 3: Interviewed / Admitted = %76
Round 4: Interviewed / Admitted = %100
Total : Interviewed / Admitted = %75

Class of 2017:
Round 1: Interviewed / Admitted = %77

Total : Interviewed / Admitted = %74
