not to hate on gmatclub, but I think clearadmit's livewire is better for a situation like this, so if you get any invites, post there too!

Don't disagree at all - we have a new update/version coming. We were hoping to release it on Monday (yesterday) but the old data from previous years, proving to be a bit pesky to fit into it. We should have a cool new app tracker within a week which will make tracking status updates easier.

For today, yes, all sent.
There will be more on the 12th. Multiple waves. Usually, it is recommended not to look into a particular wave and why someone got an invite and someone else did not, but few people can resist tracing patterns and reasons for invites.

However, the bottom line is that all invites for today have been sent; unlike the admissions decisions which often are via phone and take half a day to deliver, interview invites are sent out via email and to all candidates at the same time.

Good luck everyone! I saw an earlier question about when an applicant submitted the application. The date / time when you submit does not have anything to do with whether you are invited to interview, as long as you submitted before the deadline.

Every year I have applicants who do not get invited in the first wave but ultimately matriculate, so don't give up hope yet!

Hi Everybody,

Just a thought. Every year Harvard accepts about 115 2+2 applicants. This year 2+2 candidates can only apply in Round 3. Which means no 2+2 applicants will be interviewed in Rounds 1 or 2.

Assuming 54% success rate in the interviews, implies that the number of 2+2 candidates interviewed is about 212. Grossly estimating that is about 106 2+2 interviews in Round 1.

In a normal cycle they make 950 interview invitations (including 2+2). This cycle it should be approximately 834. I am curious about this. In the last few cycles, the 3rd day was reserved only for the 2+2 invitations, I am curious how they split the number of invitations on these 3 days this cycle.

The unsolvable puzzle :-D

This is very good thinking! Also this is the distribution of last year calling-all-harvard-applicants-2016-intake-class-of-198292-360.html
32 on first 1.5 day (Oct 6 last year, Oct 4 this year), 13 on second date (Oct 8 last year, Oct 6 this year)

This year, we have 16 on first day, which gives me a hunch that maybe HBS's new dean changed the distribution. Note that he was also ambiguous on the number for each day's batch, vs previous years very clear distribution. My hope is that more to come on Thursday!

Wishful thinking though.

Can someone clarify one thing? I got an interview but DID NOT see this part that Poets & Quants referenced:

"Also, in an apparent attempt to win over more applicants who may get an admit from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business or other rival schools, HBS told applicants invited to interview that it was conducting a new pilot program. “Admissions is running a pilot this fall to connect interviewees and alumni, and we invite you to participate so you can learn more about HBS from one of our recent graduates,” according to email invites. “Participating in this pilot is completely optional and will not impact your admissions decision; this is not part of the admissions evaluation process. To opt-in to this pilot, please click here. The deadline to opt-in is noon EDT on Thursday, October 13. We hope you will take advantage of this – our alums are eager to talk to you.”
