Hello folks,

I am in the process of preparing my resume. I have been employed in the engineering consulting firm in Vancouver for the past four years. My role has been highly technical and relates to the field of Power Systems engineering and design. However, I realize that B-schools put a lot of weight-age towards leadership and management experience.

Therefore, I am concerned that my technical background will hurt my chances of gaining an admission into a good program. Can someone please guide me on how I can leverage my technical background and use it positively to craft a competitive resume.

Best,
Minhas

Hi Minhas,

You can still show leadership and impact. Think along these action verbs which you would still use in your technical profile: Managed/led (people/project); Innovated/conceived/designed/ conceptualized (an idea/program), Automated process...saved costs; Negotiated (costs/ project process etc.); Mentored/ Trained; Implemented; Guided/navigated

You can share your resume with us and we can tell you how we can help
