FT Global MBA Ranking 2026: The Big Shifts
MIT Sloan claims #1 for the first time, jumping five spots.
INSEAD moves to #2.
After two years on top, Wharton drops to #3.
Why Sloan’s Rise Makes Sense
Business has tilted toward AI, analytics, and digital transformation. Sloan’s technical depth isn’t new. The market finally caught up. Analytical rigor and tech fluency are now baseline leadership skills.
Europe Is Holding Strong
- IESE and London Business School tie at #4
- HEC Paris at #6
- ESADE at #7
The US: Gains and Gaps
- Berkeley Haas climbs to #9
- Harvard Business School returns to the top 10 at #10, with the highest 3-year alumni salary: $261,196
But Stanford GSB and Columbia are absent due to alumni survey thresholds.
Asia’s Momentum Is Real
- CEIBS enters the top 10 at #8
- Nanyang (NTU) jumps to #12
- ISB surges 15 spots to #12
- Peking Guanghua reaches #14
CEIBS reports 156% salary growth post-MBA.
Twelve Asian schools now sit in the top 36.
Employment Still Holds
Despite market volatility, many top schools report 90%+ employment within three months. The MBA ROI remains intact.
New Metric, Big Debate
FT added Sector Diversity (variety of pre-MBA industries).
Surprisingly, elite schools rank low, while schools like Ivey and BYU top the list.

Key Highlights for This Year:- Wharton Takes #1: After a brief drop in the previous year, Wharton regained the top spot solo.
- The "Tie" Trend: U.S. News modified its methodology to focus more on outcomes (salary/employment), which led to a significant number of ties, particularly at the #2, #6, #11, and #18 spots.
- GMAT Scores: Scores are now often reported for both the "Classic" GMAT and the new "Focus Edition." The table above reflects the medians typically used for the Class of 2025/2026.
- Methodology Shift: 50% of the ranking is now based on Placement Success (employment rates and starting salaries), making these stats more critical than ever for a school's standing.
