Any Indian IT guys got an interview invite? from the EA round?

Sorry to not answer your question, but just out of curiosity, is Tuck well known in India? What are considered the best schools in your country?

Thanks

Tuck is well known in India. The other ones are obviously H/S/W/K/MIT/Chicago, Ross, CMU - Tepper, Cornell and UCLA. Not sure about the lower ranked ones though.

Thanks!

I interviewed recently at Tuck. Some of the other people there mentioned that they knew people in common with their interviewer. In my case, my interviewer grew up in the same hometown as me, worked in the same industry preMBA as me, and had similar goals as me. Do you think Tuck does this intentionally, or is this pure coincidence?

Whoa thought my case was an isolated incident; my interviewer and I also knew someone (more than superficially) in common.

I think someone posted earlier that her/his interviewer apologized that the originally assigned interviewer, who had a common background, could not conduct the interview. So it seems to by by purpose. I guess that is a glimpse of the Tuck community. While my interviewer was not a perfect match background wise (though a great person by herself), admissions forwarded my contact details and interview date to the 2nd year students from my country who got in touch with me. Totally unexpected surprise. This gave me at least an idea what the Tuck community is like.

Certainly wouldn't forget about Haas or CBS.

I had my applicant initiated on-campus i/v on 11/5 & I submitted my app on 11/6.
Tuck & Hanover are truly amazing. Current students & ad com ppl were very nice & approachable.
A place you will fall in love with. I fell in love with this place on 11/5, I am going there coming Sat. 8-)

Tuck is not for someone who doesn't like small city, who wants to go out for parties, who doesn't like snow & cold weather. :-D

But if u love small city, community, a personal flavor to everything u do, skiing, winter sports, snow :-D , fall colors, aroma of woods, wilderness, then Tuck/Haover is the place for u.

Be 200% sure if u really want to be in Tuck/Hanover. I got to know that there have been ppl who didn't like the place after spending few weeks in the course.

All the best guys!!

Few tips for ur i/v -
1) Be very clear about your goals
2) Be on top of your resume.
3) Why you want to be in Tuck? Be specific, don't give pre-cooked answers.
4) Make an eye contact.
5) Why MBA & Why Now? Very Imp.
6) Ask good ques at the end
7) Last, but most imp., Be Honest & Enjoy!!

& Remember, smile is a curve that can set lot of things straight :o

I guess this applies to almost all the interviews. Be honest to yourself, if u really want to be here in Tuck or for that matter any school. Don't just follow the masses.

My favorite Quote - A person with self-belief is equal to a force of 99 persons who only have interest!!

Follow ur Heart & Dreams!! Good Luck!!

boy wouldn't I like to know the answer to this one. I'm thinking that there still is a slim chance for some more invites, so I haven't given up hoping..yet.

I am worried too, but as far as I know, nobody from my country(Brazil) got any kind of response. So I guess they are still working on my application, or maybe they didn´t even started, cause I did not receive that e-mail confirming that my application is under review..

Is there any Latin American there willing to share your situation?

Oh OK. I remember hearing in the info session that T'15 Indian contingent is about 16 people. I can't think any reason they would be in the same ballpark region this year as well. Unless a huge number of people outside this forum have been invited I presume some more must be coming.

Fingers crossed though !

I'm also from Brazil, re-applicant. Last year, I've applied on the January round, got my interview invite about 2 weeks after submitting (submitted on the last day of the deadline). Even though I was invited to interview (Tuck does not invite as many applicants to interview as other schools do), I got waitlisted, then dinged in July.
This year, I decided not to take any chances, and traveled up there to interview. During my feedback last year (they provide feedback to all waitlisted applicants), they strongly recommended that I should apply EA this year, and go to Hanover if possible. I took their advice and went there in October to interview.

I wouldn't worry about getting that email, some people don't get it, and it doesn't mean anything. People here just stress over every little thing that happens, and try to guess what everything means. If you're an EA applicant, relax, there's still time to get invited and interview, just hope for the best.

If you'd like to chat any further, please PM me.

Best,

bizwiz
