How does UNC release decisions for those admitted from the waitlist - in a rolling basis or only on decision day?
Hi MVerick, UNC does not really have an official "decision" day for the waitlist. The offer could come at any point when it appears there will be room. As a former UNC adcom, I can tell you that if you are on the waitlist, UNC does think you could be capable of doing well in the program, but you are most likely not "over the top" on a major category- whether it is work experience, GMAT, GPA or some other key factor. So you are in a holding place... so that if there is room to admit you as the process unfolds, then you are on the list. If you'd like to learn more about how I could help you best manage your WL situation, reach out for a free consult here: https://stratusadmissionscounseling.com/ ... b-visitor/ and if for whatever reason you end up looking for next year (which I hope is not the case), know that working now with a consultant to be in the best shape for R1 Fall 2017 can be very helpful. Even a few hours could be very useful in getting some insight. Also, I don't believe UNC offers analysis of an application as a service to candidates any more, but I worked on adcom side there for 15 yrs so if you want a review of your application as UNC would likely see it, I can do that for you through the link I just provided if you ask for that. Best of luck to you!

Hi All.
A question.

I am waitlisted at UNC. But also invited to interview, AFTER that waitlist decision was conveyed.
Is it normal? Do all waitslisters got that interview invitation? If not, what does that mean? Is there something like priority waitlist (I heard that term for Tepper and not sure if such thing exist and what it means)?

Appreciate your help.

Hi All.
A question.
hi hiren2011, so any invitation to interview should be taken. Were you not offered an interview earlier I assume? If so, it may be that UNC is looking at you for the waitlist and wants to have an interview on file for you so that they CAN admit you at a later point. So my advice is to knock their socks off in the interview and show your clear interest in coming to UNC and that perhaps with a strong performance in the interview you can be one of the people they look to move off the waitlist to a spot in the class. If you want to do a mock interview with us- we have some deep talent on this and in just an hour I can do the mock interview (I have done more than I can count for UNC) and tell you what you'd need to improve to be the strongest you can be. To follow up on that- go to this link: https://stratusadmissionscounseling.com/ ... b-visitor/
