Hi
sheetalsingh123 ..
Welcome to Gmatclub. The information that ''the Universities in USA require a minimum 5 years of work experience for enrollment into MBA programs'' is
not true. US MBA programs require minimum 2-3 years of experience depending upon schools. If you want to pursue MBA, you need to get that minimum years of experience. There are many aspects which you need to take care before applying. Some of them are GMAT score, career goals, achievements, social-cause, extra-curricular, gpa, letter of recommendations etc. You have a lot of time to make your profile strong by working in right direction.
MiM is different to MBA. You can easily research the differences between them. Yes, MiM can be applied as a fresher but will require 2 years and cost. After you graduate, you need 2-3 year of working experience if you want to pursue MBA. So, why to put 2 years in MiM when your goal is MBA?
As you said you are going to apply to MiM, would you mind sharing the reason for it? Did you researched about it or it's just that the freshers can apply?
Do not hurry. Research first, analyze, consult and make a wise decision.

I live in India. I am currently in my second year of graduation. I am currently pursuing BBA and want to pursue MBA soon after I graduate. I want to go to USA for my post grad. During a counselling session, I was told that the Universities in USA require a minimum 5 years of work experience for enrollment into MBA programs. But during that session, I was suggested to pursue MIM as it's kind of a freshers' MBA (for recent graduates) with similar courses and duration of study. How true is this information? If it is true, which universities in the US offer this course? What is the job scope after MIM in USA?
I am planning to take the GMAT in a few months and send out applications by the end of this year. I complete my graduation in 2021 and I wish to get enrolled in the MIM program the same year (during fall).
