Hi there,

1st of all the information that I will share to you is based on my researches on discussions from forums and webpages as I do not have any prior experience as a Manchester or Imperial student myself.

From what I have found Manchester is definitely a good B-school, but it is slightly inferior to Imperial in terms of its reputation. However I do not think that the reputation gap is big enough for an employer to discard you in a hypothetical scenario where you are being compared with Imperial graduates purely due to the reputation difference between Manchester and Imperial.

The main point of doing internship is exposing yourself to potential employers, I get the feeling that Manchester is doing a bit better in this regard with its 3 live projects that you mentioned and a 3 months internship will add to your CV as well.

For me, while Imperial is somewhat more reputable and prestigious, Manchester is not that far ahead. Imo, its kinda not worth it to ditch Manchester with scholarship for an Imperial that gives no certain answer. If you get a 2:1 or ideally a 1:1 on your MBA in Manchester, there is no reason for MBB or other big MNCs not to give you a chance of at least an internship.

Hope this helps.

Hi jxav,
Thank you so much for your valuable input. I was happy to go for Manchester until I got a comment from an MBA admission consultant, that she said Imperial is the better program. That's why I will need to delve more to compare these two.

I was wondering that how much a brand really plays in MBA job hunting. As by far, I saw some of Manchester current students got internships from Mckinsey, while some students from Imperial said it all depends on individual's effort in building networking to get an internship.

I've also gotten some suggestion from another forum regarding my situation, he suggested that Manchester is better for a transfer while Imperial will be helpful for someone was in Consulting and looking for to upgrade their postions.

Thank you very much again! As you said, if I can be the top in the class, I guess I should have more chances.
