Just took a GMAT PREP practice test and got a score of 34 with 17 incorrect. At the end, I sort of ran of time so I started rushing. That's why I got several questions in a row incorrect. With that many wrong, I thought I would have received a lower score. Should I take this score seriously or should I simply disregard it? I'm taking the test next week and need to gauge my ability in the verbal part. This is the highest I've scored on the Quant and Verbal. My previous high was 31(gmat prep) and 33(
manhattan gmat).
These are the question numbers I got incorrect: 3,9,15,16,17,18,21,23,25,26,27,35,36,37,38,39,40
Hi
iancvergara ,
Please note that the total score doesn't depend on the number of questions you get correct/incorrect.
The score depends on the difficulty level of questions you were getting correct.
I could see that up to Question no. 20, you got only 6 incorrect. This means your graph was going on a higher side and you were getting most of them correct.
As you mentioned you rushed at the end. But the moment you started rushing, your graph was at the top or near to the top. Hence, a good score.
I believe you should work on your speed more because if you stop rushing at the end, you will be a 40+ scorer soon.
I was also facing a similar issue in the past. But by following this strategy, I improved alot.
All the best.
