i eliminated A because for purpose we use "to". what is the the purpose of kidnapping children.

Just want to confirm can't we consider these three things to be parallel if "for taking" error is put aside.

I have a query in this, since plundering itself signifies "stealing with force", why are we again using "stealing foods and kidnapping childred......wives", does it not creates redundancy?

Also if i am not wrong in option d it says "Because he plundered villages, (in that he was) stealing foods and kidnapping children......wives". Here "stealing foods......wives" is defining his act of plundering.

I too agree that E is the correct option but Option D also gives the same meaning w/o error.

Can you please explain.

Option D has an incorrect parallel structure. The newly established International Criminal Court brought charges against the warlord because he plundered villages , stealing food & kidnapping children to take as soldiers and wife Apart from the parallelism error in this choice, It appears as though the appositive/ verb-ing modifier stealing is modifying the action in the previous clause, telling us more about how he plundered the villages. So this choice distorts the meaning completely. Hope this helps

No, they don't exactly mean the same. you can say that plundering is a type of stealing which involves violence or force. plundering villages in this context means violent and dishonest acquisition of village property. Stealing on the other hand is normal theft, it may or may not involve violence or force. They are both used in different contexts to convey different meanings and so their usage together isn't redundant. Hope this clears your doubt.
