I'll start by admitting that, as an international applicant, I do understand when you say that saving $40k/$80k can make a substantial difference. Depending on your post-MBA job and lifestyle, it could mean reducing anywhere between 2-3 years of your loan payback time.

However, if I were in your situation, I would lean more towards Stern (and try to renegotiate with them to see if they offer some money). I think there is a distinct advantage for MBB recruiting if you're at Stern vs. if you're at Cornell (as bb pointed out, even though the old man mixed up his names and numbers :lol: :lol: ). Things will be possible to achieve both at Stern and Cornell.

Hence, a good way to look at this situation is you're not trading off the entire possibility of your desired goals by taking the scholarship at Cornell. Rather, you're trading off some of the probability of those outcomes. Now are those ~12 percentage points worth the ~80k? That's for you to think and decide.
