just started preparing for my exam a month back and started with
OG and free sessions of
e-GMAT.
Q1. Where do I stand today in terms of preparation?
A1. I am confident of Quant. I am working on my Verbal. Completed RC and CR in
OG.
Suggest you to take a free Manhattan CAT in proper timed condition... It will give you a good idea of where you currently stand. It will also list out topics on which you need to work in its report. You can also take the diagnostic test that is at the start of
OG... As for SC Manhattan is an excellent source... But try to understand how the scoring algorithm works and what general testing strategies you need to undertake to better your score by checking out the free trials of various courses available on gmatclub...I'd personally suggest. Check the verbal reviews on the forum and take a call.

Q2. My background and now
A2. After 5.5 years of work ex, I am home now to prepare well for the exams with complete day in hand. It may not be the best way to prepare for some but this is what I have. I need to make best use of it.
Great! Develop a strong why and have deadlines for yourself... It will help you in taking action... Try to put in 5 hours 5 days a week... Preplan your day and use pomodore technique... Log everything you do. It will help create accountability. Also have someone follow up on you regularly.

Q3. What all mock tests should I appear?
A3. Need your suggestion.
After you've worked on your weak spots and learned testing strategies by checking out empower,
egmat (free trials and webinars are available, please check on the relevant forums)
..Take a gmatprep(official gmatprep software available on MBA.com) test...Review each test thoroughly...
Use this software screenpresso or bandicam to record your performance on the test... It will let you exactly how much time you spent on every question. Gmatprep software is a little difficult to use...So using these software's will make it easy for you to review your gmatprep cats.
After every test thoroughly review each test...
All questions you got wrong should be reviewed and the relevant lessons should be reviewed again...Every question you spent over 3 minutes in should be reviewed even if you got it right.
The free cats of gmatprep software can be used 4 times...Attempt two tests and then reset it. Use these tests wisely...
Manhattan cats and veritas cats are the best adaptive tests available in the market after gmatprep particularly in terms of scoring and simulation.
Gmatclub quant adaptive tests will be an excellent training ground for you to achieve a very high quant score. For verbal please stick to official gmat sources only. If you run out of gmatprep cats you can practice using
og material on Wiley.
I think there's a discount running on Manhattan cats... They're available for 10 dollars.
Another thing to note: you can choose your order of preference on the real test and also on practice tests mentioned above... Pick whatever suits you best and brings out your best score.

Q4. When do I schedule my GMAT date?
A4. Should I schedule it now with keeping preparation time in hand or I schedule when I get full confident?
I think it is wiser to schedule a date a month from the time you're 50-60 points from your target score. A month is sufficient time to see a significant score improvement

Q5. What do I aim?
A5. I aim to score 710+. I haven't looked for colleges yet. Don't have any particular preference. Your suggestions would help. I can provide more info. Who could guide me on the same?
Always safe to aim for anything above a 700.
