Hi, Ashay Abbhi,

Private tutoring can be very expensive option, but you can check out free trial version of some popular coaching courses and decide which course suites you. Give a try for one month & then you can start private tutoring if required.

Hello everyone,

I am just about to embark upon my GMAT journey and I have a severe quant handicap. Having read through several posts on this forum, I have concluded that I would require external intervention to crack the exam. I am now, however, confused between hiring a private GMAT tutor and joining an online course. Finances are definitely a concern, which means that I am willing to invest but only to a certain extent. I am a working professional so a regular/daily physical tutoring situation may not be possible.

Kindly help!

Thank you,
Ashay Abbhi

Hi
You can do a number of things to have a good preparation for GMAT. First of all, the Manhattan prep strategy guides must help with all the concepts required for the test. Besides, you should go through the GMAT official guides giving you the savor of the real test.

You can find free video solutions of OG quant problems from the best source such as https://gmatquantum.com/official-guides/og13/ , and for verbal you can see the solution of experts form the GMAT club.

E-GMAT is a superb course for SC. You can try empower GMAT course because it is a comprehensive course for SC, RC and CR as well. The online platform will be better than a tutor as it is cheaper, and offers more video lessons. You can see the trial version and decide.

Hi Akshay,

I’m glad you reached out, and I’m happy to help. Although a tutor can certainly help you improve your GMAT skills, the bulk of your prep will still be done independently. Thus, even if you end up working with a tutor, you want to ensure that you use thorough prep materials to improve your GMAT skills in between your sessions. With that in mind, I recommend that you spend some time reading success stories of past GMAT students as well as reviews of various GMAT prep courses to see what prep materials have worked for other test-takers.
