Working with Admissionado was the best decision I made throughout my application process.
For some background, I had applied to several schools during first round last year, managed to get an interview at one, but was ultimately rejected from all.
When I was applying, it seemed like every other applicant, current student, or alumnus I encountered had friends and/or family that had gone through the same process and were able to provide guidance on programs, advice on applications, and proofread essays. This was not the case for me. I contemplated getting a consultant at that time, but decided against it, as I was worried that it would make my application inauthentic. I went to every event I could to try to educate myself, but it’s one thing hearing “you need to know your story” and then actually knowing how to craft and relay your story. I struggled with this and had to face the fact that I needed help during my applications and, again, after my rejections.
I decided not to give up and to try again - this time with the help of a consultant. I contacted several companies for initial consultations and spent two weeks speaking with different representatives before finding Admissionado. After speaking with John DC Miles, I felt like I immediately clicked with company and that John really understood what I was looking for and needed. It was the first consultant conversation I had where I felt like I was being listened to and that the consultant took a personal approach - no pressure for anything at all, just a natural conversation. I decided I wanted to continue working with him.
John and Claudia were encouraging and supportive from day one. While I was initially worried that using a consultant was disingenuous, the opposite happened with Admissionado - I really feel that John helped bring out the best in me and my application, which made it as authentic as possible.
John and I developed an action plan that fleshed out my short and long term goals and nailed down my value proposition so that my story was solidified and, best of all, "me." We also discussed what the specific program I was applying to was looking for, and how we could tailor my approach to hit all the marks, but still show my personality. This was invaluable to me, as I had struggled with representing myself and my experiences in my previous round of applications, especially in my essays. Rest assured, Admissionado does not write essays for the applicants. What they do is provide stellar feedback, guidance, and support so that (after multiple revisions and copious, honest edits) the final product shines and is 100% you.
I chose the Junior Deluxe package and added resume support and interview preparation. I learned from my prior experience that interviewing was a weakness of mine and that I needed to be able to talk about my goals without stumbling. I think I was actually more nervous for my mock interview with John than my actual interviews! I'm happy to say my subsequent interviews went fabulously as a result.
I am now going to my dream school (with a scholarship!) and I could not be happier my decision to work with Admissionado. I realized that I owed it to myself to give myself the best shot, and that I needed outside help to do that. I couldn’t have asked for a better team than the one at Admissionado. Because of them, I was able to put my best self forward. I cannot thank them enough and cannot recommend them and John more.

I discovered Admissionado through ApplicantLab and for me, it was love at first sight. I scrawled through all the content on the website and read all the reviews on GMAT Club. I signed up to have John as my consultant and after my initial call with him, I went ahead to pay for the Junior Deluxe. John is as humane as anyone can get. He kept believing in me even when I found it hard to do. He shared his own MBA journey with me which made me more at peace and he would get personal because he needed to explain an anecdote.
In the last application season, I applied to seven schools and I was subsequently rejected from all. I worked on two schools with Admissionado this season and I'm proud to say I was admitted into both schools. I received a partial scholarship from my first choice school and I can't be more than grateful.
Another point to add was the personalized service that Claudia (Admissionado's Operations Director) and Andriana gave me. Thank you so much, Admissionado!
I worked with Julia Hazen from Admissionado on 2 applications, both junior deluxe package.
Julia was instrumental in helping me get through my application process, and I can't be grateful enough! Having come from management consulting, I am trying to pivot into the social impact sphere post-MBA. Julia used her extensive international development experience to help me all the way from narrowing my school list to shaping my story to making my essays more credible.
I want to call attention particularly to how she helped me determine my story - given I have several experiences that don't necessarily string together seamlessly, this advice was crucial and laid the foundation for my apps!
Moreover, Julia transformed my essays - she was supportive but also very constructive, pushing me to deliver probably the best essays I've written. Whenever I had questions about an essay prompt or on her feedback, I would email Julia and her timely and insightful responses provided me with much-needed guidance during my times of stress and confusion.
All and all, I am very grateful for all the help from Julia and the Admissionado team, and can’t thank them enough. I absolutely think they were worth it (in fact, the junior package made the deal honestly very attractive) and would highly recommend their services!
I am very happy with services received from Admissionado, and in particular, with the work done by Julie Bowman. Admissionado and Julie were very professional, effective, and responsive. Julie was able to guide me through the process step by step on a timely basis. The most important aspect of Julie is that she was bright to connect my story/background with what the admission committee was looking for in an appropriate language. Her knowledge and experience working with a diverse group of candidates were key in my successful essays and letters of recommendation. I would like to highlight that she was very assertive in her comments and suggestions to me and my recommenders. In addition, Admissionado program was good and effective. From the beginning to the end, I received a very personalized service. They paired me with the right consultant considering my b-school options and background. In the first few sessions, expectations were set with a clear agenda which then facilitated us to manage time and workload better. Moreover, the Admissionado’s revision and feedback policy within 72 hours was convenient and effective, and helped me to prepare and plan ahead. Thanks Julie and Admissionado for their great job.
Julie and the team at Admissionado were incredible in helping me package up my life's experience in a really compelling way. They took the time to understand my work, personal and extracurricular background before diving into providing suggestions for how I package everything together. The team had a knack for identifying 'winning' ideas, while gently dismissing those that weren't right.
Whether on Skype or over email, their light-hearted attitude helped keep the mood positive, even during the more stressful parts of the application process. Julie in particular was an absolute joy to work with and I would highly recommend working with her.
Stoked to have been admitted to my three dream schools.
For anyone thinking about hiring a consultant, I definitely and very strongly recommend Admissionado. Claudia is super helpful and replies promptly to any admin related question you may have. Their initial questionnaire is great because it gets you thinking about alllll the things you've ever achieved (even if you don't think it's relevant) - it's a great way to start brainstorming the essays.
Now coming to Mandy - she is AMAZING! I barely had any clue what I wanted to do after the MBA, but she managed to help me realise my aspirations and develop my story very organically. I think she was the perfect fit for me - she had a wide range of professional experiences, and was able to help me draw parallels.
She was very patient with me, but also knew when to push me when I was taking too long to send across drafts. And every single edit I got back from her had a lot of constructive comments, rather than simple grammar edits (which I have seen a lot of consultants do) - I felt that she was very invested in my journey, and I could not recommend her enough.
I also signed up for the Resume review package - she was great with that too!
They helped me get into my dream school, and for that I will always be grateful!
When I was searching for an MBA counselor, I was told by a few counselors that I would not get into any top program as I hold another MS degree in business. To be honest, I was starting to doubt whether or not to apply and started to question why I wanted to apply in the first place. However, Julia was extremely optimistic and encouraging from the start and her advice and guidance were very helpful - she not only helped me craft great applications that allowed me to get into HBS and Wharton, but she also helped me re-define and better understand why I wanted to do an MBA in the first place. I couldn't recommend her and Admissionado enough.
I enlisted Admissionado for a strategy session with Stefanie and additional essay development services. I cannot recommend Admissionado and Stefanie enough. After filling out the in-depth questionnaire, Stefanie provided a comprehensive action plan both on paper, and discussed over the phone in a 30-45 minute phone call. Stefanie truly analyzes the questionnaire to help you strengthen your profile and provides guidance on the best elements to highlight. I did not enlist resume editing services with Stefanie but she still evaluated my resume and gave me concrete examples for how to improve it. The action plan and conversation with Stefanie made writing my essays 1000 times easier. In addition, the responsiveness is incredible. Claudia, the Director of Operations and Client Relations, has been in constant communication throughout the whole process. Emails from her or Stefanie are often answered within the hour and essay drafts, which have a standard 48 hour turnaround, usually happen much quicker. Stefanie and Admissionado have a creative flair and dedication that stood out from other MBA consultants I researched, and I’m so glad I chose to work with them.
I also used Admissionado for to help with essay development. Their essays editors are AMAZING. I was convinced I only had it in my budget to do one school, but after seeing how much my essays improved, I added three additional schools. They provide in-depth feedback and multiple rounds of editing ranging from grammar/proofreading, to full on essay reconstruction while still maintaining 100% of your voice, word choice, and ideas. They made the essay writing process so much more manageable and my essays were much stronger as a result.
Finally, if you have budget concerns, don't hesitate to do the free consultation and find out about a la carte services! Claudia worked with me to figure out which services I needed most that worked within my budget. She didn't try and push additional services that I didn't need and I was so happy with my essays, I ended up extending my package anyways.
First things first. I purchased the Junior Deluxe Package, plus the resume, LOR support and interview support from A La Carte Services. In Round 1, I applied to LBS and Haas, and I received the offer from LBS and just finished the Haas's interview.
I am extremely pleased with my experience with the Admissionado team and I would recommend it and my consultant Doris Huang to every one who is seeking admission services! Here I want to organize my review by highlighting Admissionado's flexible packages, well-operated process, and insightful contents provided by my consultant.
1. Packages. Admissionado provides a set of very flexible services to choose from, which takes into account the diverse needs of applicants. Since I am not so much into unlimited phone call access, I chose the Junior Deluxe package. Also, to secure my application, I added resume, LOR and interview support from their A La Carte Services so that they could look at my application from a holistic view. Moreover, the prices are acceptable as well, compared to some firms charging insanely high prices for almost the same kind services. So I think you can always pick up the most suitable services that best fulfill your needs and budget.
2. Process. As a management consultant myself, in my work I am always trying to find the most efficient process to do things, and I have to say Admissionado's process is very well-designed and reliably operated, during which I could not find a single flaw. After I registered my info on their website, I was soon matched with my consultant Doris in just a few hours. In the complimentary call, Doris reviewed my profile and addressed both my strength and weakness in the profile, and some smart initiatives to position myself to stand out. Then the formal process started, including the client questionnaire and the strategy call at the beginning, then I got my action plan, a branding document guiding me through the following application process. When it comes to the essay/resume/LOR editing, they followed a very strict turnover time of 72 hours and my consultant and editing specialist usually returned the edited documents even more quickly than that! Besides the edit, I regularly sent out some questions regarding to my application to Doris, and she often replied to me on the same day, which was utterly dependable. Claudia, their director of operations, oversaw and facilitated every single step and provided in-time help, which made me not feel lonely in these several months' application process.
3. Content. I had a chance to connect with Jon Frank, the founder of Admissionado, almost 2 years ago when I first had the idea to pursue an MBA. I downloaded some free guidebooks from their site and learnt a great deal about the MBA application, which let me believe their capability. My consultant, Doris Huang, is just gorgeous. She herself is a Wharton MBA and with degrees from Harvard and Oxford. She insightfully made me highlight my people skills in my application to get rid of people's stereotypes on an Asian male, and rectified many mistakes I had in my drafts which were usually made by Chinese applicants. She also helped me pick up my greatest hits and made them stand out which I never thought of before. I am indeed very thankful for her and proud of the things we created together.
With the help from Admissionado, I nailed my application in just Round 1 and got the offer from my dream school. I recommend Admissionado to you without any reservation.
After having a disastrous year last time with 0 admits, I wanted to work with a consultant this time and spoke to more than a dozen of them. Out of all the conversations I have had, the one with Shana was amazing. She didn't sugar coat stuff for me. She was very honest about my strengths and weaknesses and that honesty is what has led me to choose to work with her. I'm very happy about my decision as I already have an interview invite from a Top 1 school and am awaiting on others (I also got in at a T'15 school with 50% scholarship in early action round). This definitely wouldn't have been possible without her. A big shoutout to her and the entire team at Admissionado.
