Magoosh: Strong resource at affordable price

Course Magoosh Premium

One of my colleagues referred me to Magoosh for GRE prep. I really liked the format of the website, questions, online support and video explanations. So when magoosh offered 78USD sale for GMAT I jumped and took it. My score before taking magoosh was at 580. My confidence was very low at that time. Magoosh blogs and videos helped me to rebuild the confidence.
The course material for Magoosh premium subscription consists of a video lectures for all topics then followed by more than 1000-1500 questions for quant and verbal arranged in the order of difficulty. Each question is supported with the text and video explanation. I personally liked the option to choose the number, type and difficulty of questions. This helped me to time my preparation. Magoosh is a best and affordable resource that someone who is starting their GMAT preparation should consider using it. Most of my basic concepts for SC & math are built solely by magoosh video lectures. The online support for questions was awesome, the responses were well rounded and quick. Even when I put dumbest of the questions, I get a relevant response.
So Magoosh is a great resource. Go for it.

Best verbal guide ever and closest to the actual GMAT questions

I had taken the GMAT for the first time in September 2017. After having prepared for 3 months incessantly with a demanding job in Private Equity, i was scoring a modest 690 on my mock tests. I come from a convent school and have decent command over English language. Thus, I primarily studied from the Manhattan series (which is regarded as the holy bible for Verbal and thought that would be enough to crack the Verbal section. Being an engineer, Quant was never a struggle for me and i was scoring a consistent Q49 on my mock tests. This was going to be my first attempt and i was confident that i could get a decent score with this level of preparation. However, the GMAT taught me a lesson and showed how much i underestimated the test and especially the verbal section.
I scored a mere 640 on the actual exam and realized just how different the Verbal section was from what i had been practicing during my mocks. The GMAT tests very specific skills for the Verbal section. The meaning is of essence and not just the Grammar. I had focused only on the grammar rules during my preparation. At the same time i realised that the course material i used for practicing the Verbal section was far from what the actual questions were on the GMAT.
I was extremely confused about my strategy for prparation for the next attempt. More so because i had exhausted all the material - Kaplan, Veritas, Manhattan, OGs, in my previous preparation. This is when my friend recommended e-GMAT to me and i cant thank him enough. e-GMAT gave me a structure approach to tackling the Verbal section. Kudos to their support team for being so prompt and from the time i made my purchase they have been extremely helpful in guiding me through my preparation. Not only is the course content exhaustive, the approach to teaching the videos is simple yet detailed. The feature i love the most apart from the scholaranium of course, is the detailed explanation of each question and the trailing QandA. Reviewing the trailing QandA helped me understand what are the areas where one can go wrong and how to avoid those. Also, having answered GMAT once, i am now certain that e-GMAT's verbal section comes closest to the type of questions on actual test and difficulty level of the Verbal section.
I have been now getting a consistent 39-40 on my Verbal in mock tests. My next attempt is scheduled in June 2018 and i am hopeful that i can make it to my desired score this time around with the help of e-GMAT.

Course Manhattan Prep Live Online

Instructor Stacey Koprince

Location Online

I took a 9-session, live online course with Stacey Koprince and Brian Birdwell at Manhattan Prep. They are FANTASTIC. Not only are they subject matter experts, but they are engaging and bring the material to life. Moreover, they made themselves available to answer my questions and always responded promptly, day or night.

While there are many GMAT instructors out there, one of the things that really differentiates Stacey and Brian is their ability to provide tailored guidance to people in all score ranges. When I started out my scores were in the mid-600s. By the end of my preparation, I was scoring in the high-700s. They were able to provide me with foundational tools and guidance that were vital to breaking the 700-barrier and test strategy that helped me reach the upper-700s. Without their guidance, I never would have reached these milestones.

The bottom line is Manhattan is a great test prep company and Stacey and Brian are two of the best. If you are serious about test prep (and you wouldn’t be reading this if you weren’t) I HIGHLY recommend using their services. If is one the best investments you can make.

QUANT REVIEW

First of all i would like to congratulate all the educators of e-gmat that they are teaching the students and guiding them to right path.
Egmat properly guide students who really need to learn from scratch.
As always said nobody can reach everest in one day or ROME was not build in one day.
This course gradually builds your concepts and convert your weak points to strong points.
How this works?
First the conceptional video will help you to learn the basics and then you have to take the practice quiz (which is MUST to hone your quant skill). this quiz will build you more confident in applying concepts.
As we know GMAT is NOT A MUGGING exam. Its not that you learn the formula and start hitting the questions.
But, you should have solid understanding for the applications of the concepts that are mentioned in GMAT syllabus.
After this quiz , you will have chance to practice OG questions under time bound conditions. this will help you to be more self-assured. After that you can take assessment quiz which will tell you where you stand overall.
This part is my fav as this helps me a lot in knowing my weak and strong points. The Quant Online is not a course meant to be just get done with. It is designed in a way to make sure that you remember the concepts for times to come. I have been able to complete the course and during my practice sessions, keeping a score stable.
Even if you have any doubts , just go through forum or write your query. believe me they revert you within 48 hours. it means each student for them is valuable and paying close attention to his/her queries.

HATS OFF to team to have such a unique and best software that precisely measures your skills.

The questions that this team builds seems more related to Official questions that helps you more to be ease with application of process.
the best part of course is animation videos that doesn't make you feel bore. Moreover, if you are night owl and after work you are tired, i seriously suggest this course as it builds interest and makes you less sleepy in solving questions late night :).

Last but not least,Scholaranium will help you gauge precisely the areas of strengths and weaknesses and that too at a comminuted level. Because of this, you will know precisely where to focus your efforts on in the days leading up to the test.
in addition to perfect Scholaranium , Looking forward for CAT quizes also under this course soon :)

Pick up the tab in building these concepts with reference to right kind of practice material from the OG and Quant Review (stick to the official material). And get ready for D-DAY.

Special thanks for quant team for making me equanimous in solving hard questions with such a fantabulous course.

ALL THE BEST E-GMAT TEAM.
My wishes are with you and keep growing ........... :)

Target Test Prep Flex Program / Jeff Miller

Course Target Test Prep Flexible Prep

Location Online

I'm a good test taker, but tried to study on my own the first time around and scored a 690, much below my goal of 730. I then sought a tutor and was put in touch with Target Test Prep/Jeff Miller.

After 4 months of working through the TTP Quant Flex program, I was scoring in the mid 700s on practice tests. I really contribute my improvement to 1) how comprehensive the quant course was -- it really forces you to learn each chapter and ingrains the information into your memory and 2) my tutoring sessions with Jeff, in which he introduced me to challenging questions that often came up on my practice tests/the real test, and helped explain solutions in ways that weren't conveyed through textbooks/courses.

Although due to the adaptive nature of the test, it didn't necessarily feel easier to me while taking it, my significantly higher scores after getting through the quant program were proof of how much I had learned and my improved ability to recognize and confidently solve a wide variety of problems. I would definitely recommend taking the Flex course supplemented with tutoring sessions from Jeff to focus on your weaknesses.

I was lacking in a suitable strategy . I was following raw methods . For sentence correction , I never understood the meaning of the sentence. With the 3 step strategy of egmat I could comfortably solve tough questions in decent time . How ever , there. was some problem with the videos and I had to oft en reload . Interactive questions helped to learn concepts effectively. Initially I took lot of time in learning the strategy . As I moved to the sectional tests , I started gaining momentum . Don’t concentrate on timing in the beginning . All concepts were not videos and few were in the form of articles

A Good Source of Information

Course e-GMAT Online 360

My Background:
Although I am not a native, I completed elementary to university education in Canada.
I have a mechanical engineering degree.
I have been working for 6 years as a project management professional in the oil and gas industry.
Initially, without any studying my baseline was 630 (Q47, V30) based on GMAC's prep test. I gave myself 50 days to study for the exam in total, and dedicated 10 days on the verbal section.

General Thoughts:
I purchased e-GMAT service because I heard so many good things about what the company offers. True enough, the contents offered were fantastic and of high quality.
However, if you are a native English speaker or someone like me, who has a good command of the language, the progress may seem a bit too dull. I found myself often skipping / fast forwarding on video lectures. To be honest, I lost my patience with the progression and started to study on my own. However, that is not a reason to take away any points from the quality of e-GMAT.

Result:
After 5 days of studying with e-GMAT plus 5 days of studying on my own, I took three GMAC's prep tests.
In the three mock exams, I scored (38, 40, 39 respectively). In the actual exam, I scored V38.

Would I recommend this e-GMAT?:
Yes and no. It really depends on what type of a student you are, and what your background is. For me, I was able to review valuable core concepts that I sort of have taken for granted (as I studied English throughout elementary to high school). Beyond that, studying on my own proved to be more efficient. However, if you are a non-native or you do not use English on a daily basis I would highly recommend e-GMAT.

eGMAT Quant Online - the GO-TO course for Working Professionals.

If you have a day job and you’re working 5 days a week and you want to crack GMAT so badly in a go, the eGMAT online course is exactly what you need. Currently, I am preparing for my second GMAT as my first one didn’t go as planned. It was all Self-study with assistance from online videos from different sources and of course, OG’s. But for the second attempt, I really wanted to do it differently and avoid the same mistakes that I did before. I was looking for one course that would help me develop a methodical and structural approach to solve any GMAT problems and also help manage time in this busy schedule of mine.

After doing a lot of research myself, reading online reviews, I enrolled in eGMAT Quant Online Course. The eGMAT Quant course is a very well-designed and elegantly presented prep tool. After eGMAT’s latest enhancement, the look and feel is top-notch. It is so easy to navigate and everything is self-explanatory. The biggest advantage for Working Professionals like me is that it lets you study at your own pace.

The Quant Online course has everything that you need to ace GMAT Quant section. It helps you develop a Study plan depending on your target score and also it comes with an online tool to help you realize your sectional abilities. This is actually very cool! The Course is categorized into 5 sub-sections: Number Properties, Algebra, Geometry, Word Problems and Advanced Topics. Each sub-section has a lot of content and study material along with a lot of Practice and Application Files. After eGMAT’s latest enhancement, the course also includes problems from OG 2017 and 2018. This is saving me a lot of time.

The Scholaranium is where you can take customized quizzes and also test your individual section abilities. This is really helping me to identify my strong and weak areas and focus more on the weaker sections. This is a great tool and the way it considers the candidate's performance and does all the planning for the candidate is a big help. It is easy-to-use, versatile and flexible.

The Course is definitely a Confidence booster! It’s been few weeks since I started my prep using this course and I feel so good about it. I am confident that I will be able to hit Q50 mark this time. It was Q47 in my first attempt.

I would strongly recommend eGMAT online courses (both Verbal and Quant). The program is interactive and focuses on your weaknesses, with plenty of exercises and a full explanation on why each of the answers is wrong or correct. You get to learn many time-saving tips and techniques. The Support team is very helpful and excellent in responding to any queries.

Don’t ponder over. Trust eGMAT and go with it. Good Luck.

I have joined e-gmat Verbal on-line after reading many reviews with positive feedback about it. I have used both the on-line course and also scholaranium practice tool for verbal. Although I am still in the process for re-taking the exam I already can provide some insights about how the scholaranium tool is robust. The tool has the followings benefits:
1- It is close to GMAT question type to great extent,
2- It has the option of customizing practice to certain verbal areas to focus on weakness areas
3- It provides great analytics about your weakness, strengths
4- The e-gmat staff are great, they provide answer to any clarification, also the already existing feedback under each question is already helpful.
Overall a great tool, and can be enough as practice tool beside OG books practice questions.

Course Manhattan Prep Live Online

I took the Manhattan Prep Live Online Course because I had read great reviews of the company and also saw that they offered a 25% student discount (I am currently a college student, so this was very appealing to me). Manhattan Prep doesn't hold any in-person classes near me, so I had to take the online course. I was a little nervous about it at first because I thought I would get distracted if I wasn't in a classroom. However, I think the online course was a great decision for me. The Manhattan Prep instructors are extremely helpful and willing to give you one-on-one attention. There were ~10 people in my class and 2 instructors. The class met for 3 hours every week. The instructors engaged everyone in the classroom by calling on students and making an effort to understand everyone’s thought process. The instructors solved practice problems with us, thoroughly explained common mistakes or misunderstandings, and walked through ways to approach problems that I found extremely useful on the test. I felt comfortable asking questions in class and reaching out to the instructors outside of class as well. Manhattan Prep also offers several practice exams with full, worked-out solutions and performance analytics capabilities. In addition to the 9-week online class, the plethora of resources available to me during through Manhattan Prep (GMAT Official Guide, Manhattan Prep books, practice exams, etc.) were invaluable to my success on the exam.
