TTP helped me overcome my fear of math

In my first attempt at the GMAT, I had tried several resources but never found anything that really worked for me. Enter Target Test Prep. I had a great initial conversation with Jeff who encouraged me to switch up materials to help enliven the process. I took his advice and signed up for the $1 weeklong trial (which is great for us commitment-phobes). I really liked the clean and sleek interface, the dashboard that tracks and analyzes your progress, and, most importantly, the way TTP broke down the material into super specific chapters.

TTP provided the depth and breadth that I needed but didn’t get from the other materials. There were even times when I encountered problem types that I thought were way too specific and that there was no way this would be tested on the actual GMAT. Definitely not the case. As the Boy Scouts motto goes, “always be prepared.” TTP equips you with ALL the tools and knowledge you need so you’re prepared to tackle every quant problem on the GMAT. Also, TTP is awesome in that you can use the nifty dashboard to focus on very specific problem types. It removes any doubt or confusion on which areas need more focus and attention.

If you struggle with math, use TTP – This is hands down the best resource available if you need to improve your quant skills. The thoroughness of the program is unparalleled. DO ALL THE PROBLEMS. For the first few chapters, I was only doing the easy and medium problems then resorting to OG problems. Don’t do that. By doing all the problems, you’re drilling key concepts into your brain to the point where you’ll be able to easily identify patterns and solve problems without hesitation. Again, do all the TTP problems and then do all the OG problems.

I also signed up for individual tutoring sessions with Jeff, which was a major game changer. Jeff challenges you to really understand the concepts being tested while also showing you ways to outsmart the test makers. I am not a great standardized test and often let my anxiety get the best of me, but Jeff showed me that if you really understand and know the material, then there’s no reason to get anxious. Just trust in yourself and what you’ve learned.

A journey from V28 to V36

I had given my GMAT last year in October and scored an abysmal V-28 which resulted in a poor overall score of 650 despite scoring a whooping Q-50. So for my next attempt the strategy was very clear - to concentrate predominantly on Verbal with some intermittent emphasis on the Quants section.
So the Verbal preparations began in full swing in January 2017. I read the entire Manhattan SC section and solved the enitre SC and CR sections from OG. But somehwere deep inside I was not convinced with the method of approaching the verbal question and was in search of a mentor to guide me . At this juncture a friend suggested me to try out E-GMAT . I wasted no time and immediately browsed through the free concept files on the same day. I was so impressed that I immediately bought the Verbal Online package on the very same day and it turned out to be the best decision with regards to the GMAT preparation. After about a month I upgraded the package to Verbal LIVE in order to access the Live Sessions which again proved to be really helpful. I think I can safely say that the entire 8 point improvement in my verbal score is all due to the E-GMAT course.

I would like to recommend the E-GMAT's Verbal course for the following reasons:

1) SC Course : I think the E-GMAT's 3 step process to solve the SC questions is a game changer. This approach helped me to improve my SC accuracy drastically. Also the concepts files especially that of 'Modifiers' and 'Comparisons' are really helpful.

2) CR - Prethinking Methodolgy : This enabled me to approach the CR questions in a new manner . Approaching the CR questions by this method really helps to improve the accuracy and at the same time to reduce the time spent on each question.

3) Scholaranium Platform : E-GMAT offers a wonderful portal to practise several questions. It helps to access the exact strengths and weaknesses and helps to strategize the study plan accordingly.

I struggled a lot with verbal in my first attempt to gmat whereas my quant was not that bad. I scored 33 in Verbal & 48 in quant. I did so many SC & CR questions but couldnt improve the accuracy and thus couldnt score good in verbal on the real gmat. I havent yet taken the gmat after taking the course but I see substantial improvement in verbal. I wanted to take the exam last month -Sep'16 but due to some uncontrollable situations I couldnt take it yet. I have been away from the studies for last one month and plan to take the exam around 30th Nov.

I found e-gmat's SC & CR very helpful. Before I had to put the pause on studies, I starting hitting 39-40 on verbal in Mock tests and certainly I am much confident to crack the exam now. I always thought of SC as something with lot of rules but e-gmat makes SC so simple. Their strategies of modifiers are very helpful and after finishing the course I realised that there is no need to learn all the ideoms and other rules that actually arent required to score well.

Their CR strategies are also very helpful. Their diagram strategies helps to achieve high accuracy on hard questions. I didnt spend too much time on the e-gmat's RC part. So, I am not very sure about the value it creates in the learning but SC & CR are definitely very helpful, specially for non-native speakers.

Course Manhattan Prep MGMAT Self-Study Toolkit

The manhatten tests which i used were very un-gmat like when it came to math. The math was unexceptionally hard. For someone scoring a 49-50 in the gmatprep i was scoring between 44 and 47 in manhattan. So a suggestion to them would be to decrease their quant difficulty level because a person getting q50 would waste time on math thinking is actually bad instead of working on verbal. The verbal part of the test was accurate and had some great questions. Also their book on sentence correction was good for developing concepts but should have proper gmat like questions to solve. Also study material were very good

Having planned to give my GMAT few years ago I never had the time to prepare for the same, due to the busy work-life I never seem to have a proper time for a Offline classroom session. When I started preparation, I had no idea on how to approach Verbal sections, and I got haunted by most of the questions in OG. I found even extremely difficult to understand the solutions provided in OG SC&CR and RC. .Then one day I heard reviews about EGMAT through my friend and Instantly bought their Verbal online subscription for 6 month complete package(Verbal) which enhance my skills and develop my ability to solve gmat questions with time restrictions. I could see the difference and was able to comprehend things much easier and in a structured way. I have gained a lot from EGMAT and my verbal scores jumps from late 20 points to 30 points and so on .Highly suggest this course for anyone who is already good with math and looking for a quick revision, or anyone who's starting from scratch. The RC videos were really helpful as well. e-GMAT provides you a number of key strategies that you must keep in mind while reading through RCs. The one strategy that worked wonders for me was "to get immersed" in the passage and read what happens next!" I even used the note making approach during RCs quite regularly .Intially they seem to me time consuming but later on practising questions with that strategies increased my post scores with greater accuracy. Furthermore CR videos focussed on key strategy “Prethinking” in mind before jump to answer choices and increase your chances to choose correct answers within time constraints.

To summarize, I highly recommend this course to everyone for their structured course curriculum, streamline approach and encourage all skeptics to at least try the free lessons offered by e-GMAT and then take a final decision to buy their online course . Last but not the least I would like to say thanks to Rajat Sir,Payal Madam and Shraddha Madam for their marvellous support during my entire preparation and keep my morale boost up

Thanks and All the best.

The verbal content of e-gmat is the most comprehensive content i have ever come across. The systematic approach is very useful . Every lesson has a pre- assessment and post assesment quiz to see your important. They have a huge question bank with all typeS of problems. You can create your own test based on the topics you select and also based on the time. The sentence correction is absolutely amazing especially for non natives. If you are finding problems with verbal just trust e-gmat . Sometimes you are very strong in one topic and very weak in some other topic dividing each topic into subtopics helps you understand your weakness at the core level and work on it and that is what e-gmat does

I have enrolled in e-GMAT SC module first and later to verbal online and finally. i have taken verbal live prep as well. The course is excellent and you don't have to search for too many other options except few mock tests.
The entire design of the course is excellent with great understanding of what students need. The best part is few strategies such as e-GMAT 3 step process, which are a must to sail through the SC section confidently. I have improved from SC-22% to SC-73% ( in recent mock exam). My strong advice is to get these courses at the earliest if you are serious about GMAT. All the best :)

Best Prep Course out there for GMAT QUANT !!

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by membership [?]

Improvement 20 Points

Course Target Test Prep Flexible Prep

My GMAT journey has been a tumultuous one to say the least. I started my first GMAT way back in 2013 and finally achieved a decent enough score in 2017.

I got a 680 last year, was not happy with it mainly due to the Quant score a 47 (65 percentile). It was soul crushing; not because my verbal was brilliant but coming from a finance back ground who always scored high in math- it was once again I repeat ‘soul crushing’!

After much deliberation and 2/3 rejected applications I decided to give my last and final GMAT in 2017, the whole game plan then was to score a good score- 700 plus with a definite improvement in QUANT. Problem was I had no idea how to go about it and this was back in June-17, my exam was scheduled for 5-Aug-17. I barely had time considering the work pressure and the constant travelling. I stumbled upon Target Test Prep purely by chance, was reading one of the success testimonials of a candidate on BEATTHEGMAT (forgot the user name). He had been in the same predicament and TTP had helped him get to his goal and he had mentioned it was only a $ for a 5 day trial and pointed out that if anyone liked a structured chapter by chapter study course TTP was the one. I read more on TTP and found great reviews on BEATTHEGMAT.

Decided that a dollar was worth a gamble and what a gamble that turned out!
I was hooked right after day 1! They have three options based on the access duration. Per month $ 69, 4 months- $ 199 and 6 months access- $ 279. Being short on time I opted for the monthly access plan.
TTP has a great teaching format. They have a clear study plan outlined for you and with chapters broken up into groups. You do each chapter review with supporting sums and the best part is their explanation! Jeff and Scott shines in this area- they have an audio visual explanation for each practice sum! This is followed by chapter tests that are broken down by levels of difficulty. The number of sums at their disposal is just mind blowing. After each chapter my confidence grew, even if I didn’t score the best. That was mainly cause of the explanation, they clearly highlighted the pit falls and the traps laid out in those sums and I genuinely learnt from my mistakes(a first for me). I reached a point that in the Hard level tests I would wish to get some questions wrong purely to figure out if I missed any traps in the questions answered (delusional of me I know).

The D-day arrived, I wrote the test clicked on result and voila I see a 50 in Quant- 87 percentile. Of course overall wasn’t great as my verbal dipped to a 35 (was sooo hoping for a 720/730).
Came out of the exam center with mixed feelings but as far as TTP was concerned they rocked and I couldn’t thank them enough. The course was instrumental in beating my Quant Dragon! If you like a structured learning plan that helps you track your progress and with the advantage you can open and do it anywhere – TTP is the course for you. I loved it and would highly recommend it.
I don’t know where I land post the admissions cycles but this course was for me a score changer!

(I understand my credentials are open to question specifically since I haven’t got a lot of posts but I was a genuine student of TTP [an ACA/CPA by profession], if you feel like pinging me for further queries pls feel free to PM).

e-GMAT Verbal - Do not look beyond

Have you been struggling with your verbal score ?

Have you not been able to analyze your verbal score and understand what to do next to improve your verbal score?

Look no further than the Verbal courses offered by e-GMAT.

e-GMAT is a stop shop for all your verbal needs and offers a guaranteed increase in one's Verbal score.

I have been preparing for my GMAT for some time now and my biggest roadblock has been the Verbal section. After hours and hours of practicing the Official Guide and going through the concepts available online, I had been stuck with my verbal score in the late 20s or early 30s range. Unforunately, this just was not improving and also I did not have any information or source to lean on for guidance on further improvement. Thats when I came across the e-GMAT course being offered. Initialy I was skeptical about this course and hence took the initial free lessons offered by them. I was so impressed by the manner in which all the Verbal concepts had been articulated and taught in the form of online video lessons that I knew I had to enroll for this course.

I have already completed CR and RC sections of the course offered by e-GMAT Verbal and I already feel the improvement, clarity in concepts, a more robust and streamlined approach at solving Verbal questions. The online video lessons have been prepared with utmost care where the flow of the course seems perfect from 1 video lesson to the other gradually building on concepts. Along with each and every concept, there are numerous exercises related to that concept which one needs to practice in order to attain mastery on the concept. This is perfect to have a better grip on the concepts.

If we try to look for concept files, notes online then we get all the information in bits and pieces and that offered by other instructors is either not in a proper and concise order/flow or is inadequate to be prepared for the section holistically.

Once all the concepts have been studied, the scholaranium section of the course has a lot of good quality questions for practice which more than suffice the practice needed for a score improvement.

There does not exist any other course out there which guarantees a score improvement and after enrolling for this course I now readily feel as to why e-GMAT offers this guarantee. Such is the confidence of everyone on this course.

Having already enrolled for this course and reaching the end of this course, I highly recommend this course to everyone and encourage all skeptics to at least try the free lessons offered by e-GMAT and then take a final desicion.

Thanks and All the best.

Chose Target Test Prep and Never Looked Back

Target Test Prep’s course structure was exactly what I needed. The dashboard gives you real analytics on your progress, which makes it so much easier to track your strengths and weaknesses. It’s also easy to navigate and simple. As soon as I paid the $1 trial sign up fee, I felt like I was able to get to work immediately. With this plan, I did not take any shortcuts. I did the work. I built myself a calendar around Target Test Prep’s recommended study plan and stuck to it. I tracked my progress on their dashboard, flagging questions I did not understand, and then went back to them to redo later. No other resource I had tried (and I tried many of them) made it so easy to identify and tackle my weaknesses.

I also opted to do individual tutoring sessions with Jeff, Target Test Prep’s head tutor. These sessions were grueling because Jeff purposely showed me the trickiest problems to help me learn how the test is designed to stump you. Through these sessions, I started to learn how to think about problems and how to approach them more strategically.

For me, Target Test Prep was crucial for building the confidence I needed in my quant base, and I truly believe it taught me to think more strategically about the exam overall. My verbal and IR both improved without much additional time spent studying these sections. But I also have to thank Jeff, who gave me the confidence to go back to the exam and give it one more shot. If it weren't for his motivation, I would not have seen a 50 point increase in my score!
