Course Manhattan Prep Manhattan GMAT 9-Session In-Person Prep Course
Instructor Avi Gutman
Location Toronto, Canada
Hi, I took the course here and while the instructor was great and was the only best thing about the course, the course in itself wasnt too helpful. The basics covered are yes helpful, but the basics can only bring one to a certain score, and for me this course barely helped me cross a 600. It is very overpriced, I would recommend buying the verbal books but thats about it. Their quant material, as compared to the quant material of other online courses, is very, very basic in the least. The end of chapter questions are no where near the testing standards. Their 6 practice CATs are good, but other than that, I found the course lacked in preparing one in terms of the difficulty of the GMAT. The instructor is great in that he is so helpful in helping you understand everything about the GMAT, including relaxation tips, mental strategies but I wish I had rather heard those helpful tips without the >$1500 price tag. The instructor is the best thing about the course, and is one of the most helpful resources, but the course on the other hand, is too basic.
I used TTP after using Manhattan (which didn't go too well for me admittedly) and I really liked their breakdown of the lessons, I loved the detail it went in, the topics that it covered as well as the sequence of the topics. They really breakdown each topic in a detail level that is absolutely needed. I liked that there were practice questions throughout the lessons. I also liked the after chapter quizzes (they come in easy, medium and hard range, and are such a good practice, and you know what you should be aiming for). I also liked that it told me my best, worst, areas and I could understand what to work on. The videos with each question are so helpful because they help to understand where you are going wrong. My only suggestion would be to purchase their 6-month subscription rather than month by month because if you are in my boat, you will realise you want the course for a much longer time and will now be paying maybe a 100 dollars more than if you had gone with the subscription...Overall, a big yes !

This was a service that I should have used in my first go, but either / or, it was a really good service that got me one admit from M7, and one from a T15. The feedback that the site provides for each school is so helpful. Its concise and it gives you great pointers on what to write, how to shape your essays so that it fits into what the ad-coms want and what to avoid. PLEASE, take my word, even though the advice is remote, not-specific to you, and not being given by a live consultant, it is better than what a traditional consultant would say, because it is so school-specific and so relevant to the essays.
Its a great resource, and though I didnt use any add-on features, I am sure those must be really great.
