as the question given subscription A has a monthly fee of $20 and charges $5 per ticket for each movie.so for calculating the total cost of Subscription A for watching 10 movies,=
20 + 5*10= 20+ 50 = 70
therefore the total cost of subscription A is 70

Subscription B has a monthly fee of $40, allowing him to watch up to 6 movies per month at no additional cost, with a $10 charge per ticket for any movies beyond the 6.

total cost of subscription B for watching 10 movies =
40 + 4*10 (10-6=4 movies)
=40+ 40= 80

therefore Jorden saves 80- 70 = 10 dollars by choosing Subscription A over Subscription B for watching 10 movies.

Therefore the answers are 70 and 10

Jordan is considering two subscription options for attending movies at a local theater. Subscription A has a monthly fee of $20 and charges $5 per ticket for each movie. Subscription B has a monthly fee of $40, allowing him to watch up to 6 movies per month at no additional cost, with a $10 charge per ticket for any movies beyond the 6. Jordan estimates he will watch 10 movies each month.

Select for Cost for Subscription A the total cost of Subscription A for watching 10 movies, and select for Amount Saved the total amount saved by Jordan by choosing Subscription A over Subscription B for watching 10 movies. Make only two selections, one in each column.
Subscription A = $20 + $5*10 = 70
Subscription B = $40 + $10*4 = 80

So Subscription A = $70
And Saving $80-$70 = $10

Let x be the number of movies watched.

Subscription A = $(20+5x);
Subscription B = $(40+(x-6)*10);

Since Jordan watched 10 movies per month, x = 10;
Subscription A = $70 (Option D)
Subscription B = $80

Amount saved is $10 (Option A)

Sub A cost = 20$ upfront + 10 x 5$ = 70$
Sub B cost = 40$ upfront + 6 x 0$ + 4 x 10$ = 80$

Thus Sub A = 70$

Sub B - Sub A cost saving = (80 - 70) aka 10$

For solving this question first calculate A and separately calculate B, should be pretty straightforward.

Cost of watching 10 movies with A's subscription = $20 + $5*x = $20+$5*10 = $70 Select it.
Cost of watching 10 movies with B's subscription = $40 + (x-6)*$10 = $40 + $40 =$80,00 -> Now, dollars saved under A's subscription plan is $80-$70=$10,00 Select it.

x = movies watched
Sub A = 20 + 5x
Sub B = 40 + 10(x-6) for x > 6

If x = 10:
Sub A = 20 + 5(10) = 70
Sub B = 40 + 10(10-6) = 80

Total Subscription A cost for 10 movies: $20 + $5 * 10 tickets = $20+$50=$70

Total Subscription B cost for 10 movies: $40 + $10 * 4 tickets (6 free tickets) = $40+$40=$80

Answer
Cost for Subscription A = $70
Amount Saved by choosing Subscription A over Subscription B = $70-$80 = -$10 (saved $10)

Subscription A: Monthly fee of $20 + $5 per ticket for 10 movies = $20 + (10 × $5) = $70.
Subscription B: Monthly fee of $40 + $10 per ticket for 4 extra movies (after the first 6) = $40 + (4 × $10) = $80.
Amount Saved: $80 - $70 = $10.

Cost for Subscription A: $70.
Amount Saved: $10.

  • For 10 movies, on subscription A Jordan will pay 20 dollars fixed and 5 dollars for each of the movies: \(A = 20+5*10 = 70\)
  • On subscription B, he will be charged 40 dollars fixed plus 0 dollars for the first 6 films and 5 dollars for the remaining four: \(B=40+10*4=80\), which is 10 dollars more expensive.

Therefore, the cost of A is 70, and the saved amount is 10.
