Hi everyone,
This is my first post ever on gmatclub
I took the GMAT yesterday, and I want to briefly share my experience, a mixture of surprise and disappointment...
I stared preparing seriously beginning of the year. My first score on the prep Software was around 550 (imbalanced between a good Q and a very weak V scores). My target was at least 700. I based my preparation mainly on the
OG and I did many tests (of course I reviewed all the wrong answers):
Manhattan 12-Feb 590 Q42 V31
Manhattan 14-Feb 580 Q42 V29
Manhattan 19-Feb 610 Q38 V35
Manhattan 05-Mar 610 Q37 V36
Manhattan 08-Mar 620 Q43 V32
Manhattan 09-Mar 610 Q45 V30
Veritasprep 27-Feb 610 Q47 V27
Veritasprep 28-Feb 650 Q48 V31
Gmatclub 01-Mar 480 Q39 V19 (Either I was crazy that day or the tests and scoring should be reviewed)
Software prep 04-Mar 660 Q48 V32
Exam Pack 06-Mar 660 Q49 V31
Exam Pack 07-Mar 690 Q49 V34
Exam Pack 10-Mar 660 Q48 V32
Exam Pack 12-Mar 700 Q49 V35
Official 13-Mar 670 Q50 V30 (good surprise for the Q50, bad one for the V30, overall disappointed about the imbalanced score).
As you can infer from the above, I am rather ok in math but terribly bad in verbal. I don't know how to progress in RC, SC and CR!
I plan to re-take the GMAT on the 6th of April, hoping I can reach 700, (but before that I have to take the TOEFL on the 1st of April - preparation progress still in the beginning).
Any good advices how to progress in the verbal part of the GMAT and in the TOEFL as a whole (in roughly 17 days
)?
Thanks for reading!
