A fraction m/n is formed by randomly choosing integers for m and n such that

1 ≤ m ≤ 9
1 ≤ n ≤ 6

What is the chance that the fraction is less than 1/2?

A. 1/9
B. 1/7
C. 4/27
D. 8/27
E. 23/27

9 digits in M and 6 digits in N, therefore total number of possible fractions = 9*6 = 54
Possible Fractions less than 1/2:
1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 2/5, 1/6, 2/6 = 6

Chance of fraction being less than 1/2 = 6/54 = 1/9

Answer - A
