hi can someone please explain the calculation for this?

The milk man mix the solution in the ratio 5:4:3. Assuming he is mixing 5 lts of Rs.6 mixture, 4 lts of Rs.8 mixture and 3 lts of Rs.10 mixture. He gets 12 lts for a total cost of Rs. 92. {(5*6)+(4*8)+(3*10)}.

The milk man sells this mixture at a profit of 50%, hence the selling price for 12 lts will be

92 * 1.5 = 138.

Therefore the price per lt is

138 / 12 = 11.5

Hence Option B - Rs.11 is the closest choice.

Suppose Total Volume of Mixture post mixing = 12 ltrs

(Note : the ratio is 5:4:3, so Total Volume = 5+4+3 = 12 ltrs. It can be any multiple of 12 , say 12,24,36 etc)

Total CP (for 12 litres) = 5*6 + 4*8 + 3*10 = 92 (Cost of Solution 1= 6, Solution 2 = 8, Solution 3=10)
Profit = 50%

therefore, SP (for 12 litres) = 92 * (100+50)% = 92 * 1.5
SP (for 1 litre) = 92 * 1.5 / 12 = 11.5

11.5 is closest to 11 amongst the given answer choices

(B) is the correct answer
