According to a recently enacted law, any organization that engages in lobbying activities is required either to notify their members about the percentage of dues that are used for lobbying activities or pay a proxy tax.


(A) their members about the percentage of dues that are used for lobbying activities or - their can't refer to single noun organisation


(B) their members about the percentage of dues they use for lobbying activities or to - their can't refer to single noun organisation


(C) their members about the percentage of dues that are used for lobbying activities or they should - their can't refer to single noun organisation


(D) its members about the percentage of dues that are used for lobbying activities or it should - Percentage is singular..so verb should be singular.


(E) its members about the percentage of dues that is used for lobbying activities or to - Correct.

IMO option E.

eliminating A, C and D for parallelism errors, correct answer should be "either to ....or to"

eliminating B for using wrong pronoun "their"; organization should be referred to by "its" rather than "their"

1. Organization --> use it. Left with D and E.
2. Either "to notify..." or "to pay..."

percentage here refers to dues which is plural . Why Singular verb is used here.

A. their members about the percentage of dues that are used for lobbying activities or - “their” should be “its” because organisation is singular; also missing a “to” at the end to make “to notify” and “to pay” parallel
B. their members about the percentage of dues they use for lobbying activities or to - “their” should be “its”
C. their members about the percentage of dues that are used for lobbying activities or they should - “their” should be “its” and “they” should be “it”
D. its members about the percentage of dues that are used for lobbying activities or it should - “it should…” isn’t parallel with “to notify”
E. its members about the percentage of dues that is used for lobbying activities or to - looks good to me!
