According to meteorologists who tracked satellite information, a large amount of sand caught up in massive wind gusts recently created a series of enormous sandstorms in the Kerman province of Iran, which completely buried 16 villages and also potentially destroying dozens more.

A) a large amount of sand caught up in massive wind gusts recently created a series of enormous sandstorms in the Kerman province of Iran, which completely buried 16 villages and also potentially destroying
which.... wants to refer back to series of enormous sandstorms, but can't
completely buried...and also potentially destroying has broken parallelism

B) a large amount of sand caught up in massive wind gusts was what recently created a series of enormous sandstorms in the Kerman province of Iran, and it completely buried 16 villages and also potentially destroyed
was what is unnecessary, but isn't grammatically wrong
The , and is awkward addition of a clause. It would be better to use a ; "Iran; it completely"
Better than A at least, but not good

C) a large amount of sand caught up in massive wind gusts recently created a series of enormous sandstorms in the Kerman province of Iran, completely burying 16 villages and potentially destroying
Nice.

D) a series of enormous sandstorms in the Kerman province of Iran, recently created by a large amount of sand caught up in massive wind gusts, completely buried 16 villages and it potentially destroyed
completely buried...and it potentially destroyed
Parallelism is broken with the inclusion of an unnecessary it

E) a series of enormous sandstorms in the Kerman province of Iran was recently created by a large amount of sand caught up in massive wind gusts, completely burying 16 villages and it potentially destroyed
completely burying...and it potentially destroyed
Parallelism is broken with it and past tense
