A) mostly , we use a verb( impact) with on, so here, it is used incorrectly, cross out.

C) and D) have a serious impact and be serious impact , Answer D is much more better than C and also diminish is also better than impede

SAME REASON AS FOR B.

The phrase "seriously impact on" is grammatically incorrect. It should be "seriously impact agrarian nations"

(C) seriously impact on agrarian nations and severely impede the possibility of attaining
same mistake as option B

(D) have a serious impact on agrarian nations and severely diminish the possibility of attaining
"Have a serious impact" and "severely diminish" are parallel verb phrases that effectively convey the potential consequences of the expected drop in cotton prices
Hence, this is the best option

"..Diminish the possibility to attain.."

In this context, possibility of attain/attaining is gramatically correct. So we can right away eliminate A,B and E.

Now option C says " Could seriously impact on agrarian nations..". The use of (form of) serious seems fine. But
Option D seems a better choice in thay regard "Could have a serious impact on .. " And it maintians the same meaning we want to convey.

So answer is D
