I would need a bit more information to give you a proper full assessment. I’m missing details like your total years of experience, career progression, hobbies, and a bit more context around your roles and impact.

On school selection, I can definitely help, but it would be useful to understand your preferences as well. Are you mainly targeting the US, Europe, or the UK? Are you looking for a large program or something smaller and more intimate? What matters most to you, brand, location, scholarships, post-MBA opportunities, lifestyle, etc.?

That said, you’ve already shared some very strong points like IIT, Mastercard, and a 715 GMAT, which are all excellent and definitely give you strong potential 🙂

Hello, can I get a profile evaluation please?

I am a 27-year-old Indian male (Canadian PR) targeting R1 applications for Fall 2027 matriculation, building a strong profile to secure a 75%+ scholarship. My pre-MBA experience will be 3 years as a promoted Senior Associate in a data-heavy, operations role at a leading FinTech firm. I am targeting a 700+ on the GMAT Focus Edition and will be sitting for the CFA Level III exam in August 2026, having already passed Levels I & II. My undergraduate profile includes a ~2.75/4.0 GPA from Simon Fraser University, with a clear upward trend (Final Year ~3.39/4.0 and a strong Finance GPA as well), and relevant extracurriculars including being a semi-finalist in a university investment challenge. My post-MBA goal is to pivot to a buy-side Equity Research role in the US, leveraging the MBA to access hands-on learning via student investment funds. My target school list includes primary targets Cornell (Johnson), NYU (Stern), and Duke (Fuqua), with M7 programs like Booth and CBS as reaches.

Indian, MTech in Structural Engineering, senior structural engineer with 9YoE at a large British MN engineering consulting firm based in India.. Got a chance to move into Business Development at the same firm 6 months ago.. Post MBA I would like to pivot into Consulting in EU or ME.
I am 34. Will that be a problem?

Question 1

Hi pratikgurlani, Your profile is an interesting one. You have a few red flags that you’ll need to address for adcoms that will be of concern. Years of experience/age are higher than the average. Your post-MBA goal is less likely for hire with more years of experience as well.
Beyond these things, you want to emphasize the unique things you have - MN engineering with the business knowledge - you can talk about movingup to strategy at an MNC. You can reach out to HEC for a profile evaluation and they will let you know if your experience is too high. Consider Rotterdam School of MAnagement - their program is targeted for mid-career candidates.
