Please let me know what you think of my chances (or if it even makes sense) -
Background: Indian (Should get my Canadian Passport this year)
Education: Bachelors in Science (Biochemistry) - 70% average of 3 years. Realized then that investments & finance is what I like. Obtained Masters in Investment & Financial Analysis (basically self-taught) while working full time - 60%
GMAT: 660 (paid & booked exams, but lost motivation a month before exams. Decided to go write exams as I had nothing better to do that day). Preparing diligently now, targeting 740+
Work Experience: Overall ~11 years (before you recommend Exec. MBA, hear me out).
I love crunching numbers, so cracked entrance exam for a govt. bank and joined it right after completing bachelors (didn't know how to write a cheque on my first day at work
). Self-taught banking (and finance and pretty much everything else required to do the job), and was promoted to credit analyst within a year of starting work. Worked there for 3 more years, obtained my masters degree while working, leveraged it and jumped ship to a private sector bank in same role (basically traded job security for better pay, stability and challenge). Worked there for 2Y8M, got Permanent Residency for Canada so decided to quit the job and make the move.
After coming to Canada, started working as a Financial Advisor managing investments for retail clients (still at it after ~4 years). That got fascinated with capital markets and decided to improve my skills & knowledge - realized that I needed CFA. Got my CFA charter last August (no redos were required, thank God!)
Post MBA Goals:
Short Term Goal - I have worked most of my life in retail banking, and I have come to realize that its not fulfilling (at least for me). The idea is to change careers and enter into Asset Management - leverage both CFA & MBA (and my passion for investing), starting as a research analyst for a buy-side shop (mutual fund/pension etc.). CFA gave the theoretical knowledge, MBA will provide the practical experience with oversight (hence targeting MBA schools with strong finance offerings). My life has changed drastically after coming to Canada, and I have to come to recognize my dream (and shortcomings that I need to work on to realize that dream), Exec. MBA will not plug those gaps.
Long Term Goal - Portfolio Manager with an asset management firm, and some day open my own boutique shop.
Recommendations - Can obtain one from my current manager (she acknowledges my ambition, and supports it - I hope)
Extracurriculars - Used to play sports in school and college, but not much after that.

First and foremost, I would advise you not to procrastinate or lose motivation this time and instead focus on achieving your desired GMAT score. All the best for that. On the work front, your work experience seems interesting, from India to Canada. Your role was mostly finance-related, and CFA will significantly boost your profile. You will need to talk about the roles and responsibilities you have undertaken, Impact you have had on the respective organization, career progression, and leadership skills. The school will be looking for students who can demonstrate how their MBA will help them advance in their careers, so show how your MBA will help you advance in your career. They want to know how an MBA from a specific business school can help you achieve your short- and long-term goals. Your post-MBA goals make sense. So, you must give a plausible reason for a career change. Why do you feel a retail banking sector is not fulfilling, and how can asset management help.
Overall, you have a good profile and a chance at top business schools. Yale, IESE, Haas, and Cornell can also be added to your list. However, your essays and GMAT score will play a significant role. Your essays will be crucial in explaining your motivation for an MBA, why not an executive MBA, and why you want to change careers. I recommend that you begin working on your application as soon as possible! What matters most in your application is how well you connect the dots and tell a compelling story.
