Has anyone else heard anything about fellowships/scholarships? I see that a few individuals received scholarship offers in December, but the Admissions office says that most fellowships go out in February. I assume any offers would go out before the deposit deadline (2/19), correct?

I have a significant scholarship offer at another school, but would prefer to be in NYC for personal reasons, and am really hoping that CBS will match or partially match.

I'm wondering the same thing.

I'm also curious about how quickly we will hear about financial aid/need based aid because I would like to take that into account when making my decision.

We won't find out about need-based aid grants until April, far too late to take into account for deposit #1. Hoping to get a merit based grant of some sort prior to 2/19 though, that would go a long way for me.

Haas at least lets us know about need/merit grants by 1/21.

On a similar note, does anyone know if sending in a deposit and getting everything started before February comes around will hurt my chances to get a scholarship? Does the fact that there are others who are more "on the fence" than me hurt my chances?

Why would you exercise an American option before expiry, if there are no dividends?

Haha I'd like to start traveling around March and would rather get all my verification out of the way before I leave the country. But point taken :)

Hello,

I was wondering when people got the notification for the background check.

I was accepted in December and still haven't heard anything.

Thanks!

Hi,

You can check your to-do list items. You should have one called 'Re Vera Services'. That's asking you to initiate your background check from your end. :)

does the "revera services" only show up in your to-do list once you've accepted the offer/paid the first deposit? It doesn't show up in mine...

It will show up after paying first deposit.

Hey Everyone,

I am waiting to hear back regarding my background check and am trying to wrap my head around the financial aid situation. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge around getting financial aid for graduate school/MBA programs? It looks like the school recommends you fill out an application on the college boards website and a Columbia specific application. Does anyone know if it is hard or unlikely to get financial aid? Does anyone have any advice?

Also, if anyone had an experience with revera that was good/bad/unusual, it would be interesting to hear?

Looking forward to meeting some or all of you in Morningside Heights!

Best

Has anyone heard anything re: merit fellowships?

Typically what amount have you received? 3 digits, 4 digits, 5 digits, full?

I found out during my acceptance call, but from what I understand it's a separate process and they may let some people know later on.
