Hi all, even if you are not applying R1, make sure to make progress on your application this weekend.
It takes time to think, process and iterate.
More time ❯❯ better research ❯❯ better content ❯❯ better quality applications ❯❯ better chances
Do the introspection needed to start on the motivation essay, which often is the one that takes the most time.
A good place to start might be to gather over drinks with friends, crowdsource this project. Many hands makes light work and they have the benefit of being outside of you. Think: a fish does not know what water looks like.

I would just ask you a further clarification, if possible.
I totally agree that not allowing them to contact the employer would really appear suspect and I am not even considering that possibility. And I am perfectly fine with them contacting my recommenders, which most probably will both come from my company. My concern is related to what you said about contacting HR. I mean, it would not put me in a great position if "a stranger" calls my HR department informing them that I am planning to leave the company. I hope I made my point clear.

Hey Wrongchalice,
It is perfectly fine to ask not to contact employer. I did the same as I was under probation at the time of INSEAD application and did not want my employer to know already.
