Good luck to everybody here. Wanted to offer advice to those of you who don't get the coveted admit. Darden admissions mentioned that R2 app volumes were light, encouraging people to apply to round 3. So it might be a good plan B for some of you finance folks.
https://mbaprepcoach.comI received a PM about this and wanted to post the response publicly.
One of my clients was strongly encouraged to apply in round 3 by a Darden admissions officer he met in person at the MBA tour ( or one of those multi school event things.) He ia a diverse applicant (middle east) with a strong work history but his GPA is 2.5 and zero extracurriculars. And I believe he was forthright about this. Maybe the tiki torch activities impacted their numbers?
I think Texas also has a fair bit of room left in their class. One of my clients sat in on a presentation and they also encourage round three applications. Not exactly a finance school but great for tech and energy, would be a good place to go if you're interested in Investment Banking in the oil and gas sector.
Sometimes it helps to have a plan B in mind when you're sitting on your hands freaking out waiting for something.
On that note CBS J Term *if* you don't need an internship, which is probably not going to apply to many finance people, but another possibility.
