in the "Financing Your MBA/Sponsorship"session of the online application form,
did you guys:

- considered the 2 year financing tuition cost or;

- considered only the first year financing tuition cost or;

- considered the financing of all costs (tuition + other expenses);

little bit confused, because i know that some employers also sponsor costs other than tuition, etc...

This is a very hard question to answer, and I asked CBS Admissions about this myself. What I did based on their advice is for just one year, only tuition. I was also told it doesn't really matter and that they just want to make sure you're thinking about it and are aware of the costs.

Hope that helps.

Hi everyone,

I have a unique situation regarding my employer history and need your suggestions. I work at an investment bank (say XYZ Bank)for last 5+ yrs. 3yrs back I had an intra-company transfer within the same office location (infact same office floor) from one division to another (It also led to change in entity say, XYZ India services Ltd. to XYZ Structured services Ltd.). In such a case do you advise I list two different employers within the application form or is it safe to simply say 'XYZ Bank' and employed for last 5+yrs. In the event I mention 2 different employers I also need to mention reason of leaving, which am not so sure what to mention as it was simply a merging of two roles (and not an opted switch).

Kindly advise

Apologies, if I made the whole scenario confusing.

I suggest calling the school and asking them. Some ask for each position to be listed separately, some do not. Good luck!

I was waitlisted on Tuesday--did you do anything to improve your candidacy or send any updates to admissions? Would be helpful to know as I think about what I should do.

Thanks!

Re: Calling all CBS Applicants - (2016 Intake) Class of 2018 [#permalink]
Hi all,

I have two queries regarding Columbia mba application.

1. Under Education -
While trying to add institution it gives me two option for level of study - bachelors/masters. Now my degree is an Integrated Masters in Economics from Indian Institute of technology, Kharagpur. I was conferred both the Bachelors and Masters degree at the end of 5 years of graduation and do not have separate grading. If I choose only masters option with my final grades the form doesnt allow me to submit without addition of bachelors degree. Kindly suggest how to resolve the situation.

2. Under Tests -
I have already self reported the GMAT scores but it also asks me upload an unofficial GMAT score sheet. Is this unofficial sheet same as the hard-copy I got on the day of test without AWA score or something else. Kindly clarify

Hi,

I'm applying to "2016 August Regular Decision Full-Time MBA"

When is the next deadline? January 6th? Or April 13th?
Is post January 6th considered "Round 3"? (i.e. with lower chances to get in, like in other MBAs?)

Thanks

January 6th is to be considered for financial aid. If you apply on January 7th rather than before you will NOT get aid, but your chances of admission won't really be affected. Columbia looks at applications rolling, not by rounds, and reads them in order. It is probably slightly better to apply earlier, but they won't wait until April if you miss the Jan 6th date.

Hi the deadline for the Regular Decision is April 13th.
Columbia does not has Rounds as such. it follows a rolling admission process and ann the applications before Jan 6th would be considered for a fellowship.
Since, it is a rolling process, so yea you will be at some disadvantage in the April deadline.
