A bit of statistics. No need to worry about GMAT too much, keep in mind that on GMATClub averate GMAT is higher that the real average.

Got an invite yesterday: 700 GMAT, 3.7 GPA, niche consulting.

Any advantages to doing the interview on campus for people who are in the US but not Chicago?

Seems like a lot of interview invitations are being extended to those outside of the Chicagoland area...any local people receive an invite yet? I'm thinking the ordering of the release may have to do with giving those who have to travel preferential treatment in selecting interview times.

I'm in the Chicago area and I got an invite on the 8th.

I think a couple of people commented that this might have to do with the individual adcom members that were reviewing the apps assigned to them. I think that makes sense. It's probably all random.

Yep! From the submission e-mail:

Good information as Booth's website does not mention about the interview dates. So this is definitely useful to know.

zachner, to answer your question about location - it has no influence on your admissions chances. But Booth does always encourage applicants to visit campus, because it gives you a better sense of the community and an opportunity to talk to current students and perhaps sit in on a class. So if you haven't visited yet, then it would be a great opportunity to do so! FYI, on-campus interviews are usually done by a 2nd year student, off-campus are usually done by an alumni. Good luck!

I can second this - I've definitely met a bunch of students here who didn't visit the school before applying and interviewed off-campus but I would recommend interviewing on campus if you're able to and haven't previously visited the school. Personally I visited the school before applying and then interviewed off-campus in a hub city.

Got the interview at Booth! Also no email, had to check website.

Some stats: 730 / 3.64 terrible school (~125-175 ranked) / buy-side research / strong recs, essay, and leadership in extra-curriculars
