Does anyone know if there is any particular method to the madness. For example, do they start calling East Asia first at 8 am Chicago time as they know it is getting late there and then slowly move westwards?

Wondering if there is any historical data regarding this.

For class of 2017, first call was reported on forum at 6:08 AM Pacific Time from New York, followed by Philippines, Nigeria, Panama, NYC, LA, St. Louis, Germany, Texas, Chicago, and Chile.
