Hey everyone, I got waitlisted in Darden in the early action round (after the interview). Post that, my waitlist manager asked me to submit an essay showing my career goals and why MBA, why Darden. I have submitted that, along with an additional LOR from my recruiting manager. I also retook the GMAT and submitted an enhanced score of 760 from my original score- 730. Can anyone let me know if I have a chance of converting the waitlist into acceptance? And if so, will I receive an update only with the R1 results, or before that as well?
Congratulations. Those are some amazing updates. So from what I know, waitlisted applications are reviewed along with every subsequent rounds. Since you were waitlisted in Early Action Round, your updated profile would have been evaluated with the pool of Round 1 applicants. So you should expect some response with Round 1 decisions. It can be Admit, Waitlist (once again), or Ding.
If it's Admit or Ding, you have a clear answer. If it's Waitlist (once again), you have to repeat the same process again. Now I understand not a lot can change in 3 months, but you'll have to keep in touch with your waitlist manager and ask them how you can improve your candidacy. You will then be reviewed with Round 2 applicants.
Hope this help. And best of luck!
