extra curriculars have to be like national level or just something we do because of passion or interest?
I talked about being a baker who almost set his kitchen on fire in my Random 25 facts essay. So I think you’re good even if you’re not an olympian

Resending the message.....I am an entrepreneur currently looking for a transition to bring about a change in professional and personal life. I would love to know more about how you tackled the 25 random things essay? Also, anything else that stood out as most important that Fuqua looks for in a candidate. Would love to connect on LinkedIn as well.

I’m assuming this is for Fuqua and not Tuck xD But if your work has grown, the title need not have changed. Not every industry/company has rapid promotions or frequent title changes. As long as you can demonstrate a steady upward career trajectory. You’re all set! If on the other hand, the work has remained the same as well, maybe it’s better to reassess whether the MBA is an escape from this rather than a justified next step!
Thanks for the replies folks. What about if I want to do an MBA to move ahead in my career? In my industry, its really difficult to move up the ladder without an MBA/Masters especially in big brands

Can someone from India pay for the mba math course? The currency used in India is rupees but mba math is in dollars?

Would love to get an answer on this too.
Don’t make that essay professional heavy, mix up personal facts/values/future aspirations/motivations/etc, mix up longer facts with shorter ones, and some self-deprecating humour is appreciated (use caution)

Just my take, others can think differently:

I was focusing on my professional and volunteering experience in my career goal essay, resume and 3 contribution essay. So, I wanted to just talk about who I am as a person in the random 25 facts essay - unfiltered version of myself, if you will. It’s all about bringing a balance and demonstrating your WHOLE self to the adcom. You don’t want them to think that your personality is just limited to work. All work and no play has never helped anyone. Hope that helps :)

You’ll get PLENTY of more opportunities. Fuqua really isn’t hell bent on extracting application fees from applicants!
Seconding this! Rather Fuqua wants more people to send in their applications so that they can craft their class. The applicant pool is HUGE!

For me, I spent a good month, solo travelling in Ladakh and just documenting EVERY significant thing that has happened in my life till now. That gave me 9-10 pages of content which I then sifted through identifying points that were pivotal in my life.

One point was literally just talking about my morbid fear of lizards.

In short, there really isn’t a recipe. If you’re honest with yourself and truly introspect, the adcom will see it too.

Read up about Team Fuqua and try to demonstrate the same values in your applications and interactions. Team Fuqua is the real deal.

Things that don’t work:

1) Your GMAT score being the only highlight of your application. If you have that 750-760 and are still trying to get a 770-780, your time might be better spent on other aspects of your application

2) Trying to show off your achievements. I know someone who was a TIME 30 under 30 something, Started his own company, made millions etc, but his entire 25 point essay was just about HIM. filled with "I"s and he didn’t even get an interview.

To answer your last question first: many, if not most, consulting firms sponsor visas. Speaking to your questions about how Fuqua will help prepare for a role in consulting: You rely on second years to help you case, and the CMC for recruiting. The process is very structured, so I would just say trust the process

I read in the above chat that programmers might be given less importance over others with same work experience. So I’d just wanna know do Indian female programmers have an advantage during the shortlisting process that the Indian male programmers don’t ? It’s a little less represented pool I believe! Or does everything ultimately zero down to applocation/resume irrespective of location/origin?
