Hi Guys,

I have few doubts.

I have read somewhere that IIMs consider GMAT only for NRIs or foreign students, but not for Indian students.
Also, I have read that minimum work ex. required is 5 years and that too in a managerial role.

So, If I have a 3 year work ex (not in managerial role), and I am an Indian who has given GMAT. Am I not eligible for any IIM through GMAT ? (Consider PGPX and 2 year MBA programme)
Please help.

Thanks,

Hi Ashygoyal

For PGPX GMAT scores are required, for 2 year PGP you need to take the CAT. PGPX requires min 4 years of work experience.

Hi,

I will be applying to IIMA PGPX. I wanted to know how I can show the various profiles I have worked in, in the same organisation. Also I was talking to one of my friends who is a PGPX graduate, he suggested that having worked in different streams altogether, like in my case, substantially devalues the profile since I won't be considered having a good experience in any particular stream with 2-3 years in supply chain then a little bit in marketing and then a little in corporate strategy.

Following is the a brief history of my work experience.

Work Ex - 8 years

Hero Motocorp Ltd. (India's largest two wheeler manufacturer) Feb, 2015 to Present.

a. Service Planning, Corporate Office, Oct, 2016 to Present.
b. Territory Manager- Service, Sales Marketing-Customer Care department, Feb, 2015 to Oct, 2016.

Tata Motors Ltd. (India's Largest automotive manufacturer) Sept, 2009 to Feb, 2015.

a. Customer Support Manager, Marketing-PVBU. Sept, 2013 to Feb, 2015
b. Manager, Vendor Development, Sourcing & Supply chain Department. Apr, 2012 to Sept, 2013.
c. Assistant Manager, Vendor Development, Sourcing & Supply chain Department. Sept, 2009 to Sept, 2013.

Bachelor of Technology - CGPA 6.94/10
High School (12th) - 72.4%
10th - 83.8%

Hi Ashok,

Technically speaking yes you can apply in first round. But it is not advised to do so since
(1) There are too many things to be done to prepare an effective application in remaining 9 days
(2) It hardly matters whether you apply in 1st round or 2nd round in IIMs

In PGPX application, regarding Applicant's Current Employment Details, responsibilities section has instruction as below :
Responsibilities during job ::: Max 500 Words (Copy & Paste is not permitted. you need to type description manually)

But I can successfully paste the data in the section and application is saved without any issues.
Why this restriction is there, any idea?
Are we expected to type 500 words again in the section after editing in word document?

in the IIM PGPX application it asks to write role and responsibilities and Achievement (500 words each).Which format should i choose?

I worked in 3 companies 11 years. Current company tenure is for only 2 years. IIMA also mentions write about role and achievement of past work only if your current role is less than 12 month old.I am confused?

Big part of my career achievment and work happened before 2015 too.How to put it and what format i should choose.

Should I write bullet marked achievement and R&R points or shoul I describe them.?

And I have international work experience in 12 countries but with no appointment letter there in those countries. how to put it across?

KVS TT Nationals Player.

This is a brief introduction about my profile.

1. Request you to evaluate my profile and what are my chances for IIMA PGPX. I feel that duration of my work exp. is less.
2. Also, I had worked in a Swedish Company for 6 months prior to HPCL. However, I have joining letter for the same, but do not have any relieving letter and any payslip. Can I include this also into my work experience duration.

Hi,

When I try to save the application with bullet points, I see "rnrn" characters are inserted into the form.

For example: If I enter:

Did X.

Did Y.

It converts that to:

DidX.rnrnDidY.

Note the "rnrn" inserted at the paragraph break.

Has anyone noticed this behavior. How did you resolve it?

Thank you!!
