Guys Im planning to apply for R2 . Can any of you let me know if anyone with under 5 years experience has been shortlisted for the interview ? I guess this is the first time where PGPX has lowered the cut off to 4 years work exp. so I was just wondering if persons like me ( 4 years 9 months by the time course starts) really stand a chance.

Yes, quite a few have been short-listed. I know around 12, out of whom 8 have between 5 to 6 years experience and 4 between 4 to 5 years experience.

However, the avg GMAT of the above group is also 720+. For a male candidate, it is little more challenging. Among 12 short-listed, 5 are male and 7 female. Among the 5 males, 3 have mostly international experience and located internationally (gmat 710+), 1 is from the Power sector(Gmat 720), and 1 is from IT (Gmat 760).

A lot of these(12 shortlisted) are Masters graduates. Some has MS from US, few did M.Tech from IIT’s.

Hope this helps you decide.

Hi

Thanks for the response. Relieved to know that . I have a GMAT of 710 with 4.6 years experience in construction project management, 3 in India and 1.6 years international . Also , I have a PG diploma in Advanced construction management . DO you think I have a chance atleast for the interview ?

Yes, even if there is 20% chance of getting a call it is worth the efforts. I am wondering you will or have applied to ISB as well. I recommend you should.

Both are good schools with plenty to offer. What is your post mba goal( companies, role etc)?

Now that responsibilities and achievement each need only 1000 characters, how should we go about it.
What kind of language should be used here, just simple to the point or glossy finish.

Any tips will be very helpful.

You should give priority to the details. If space permits, you can make it glossy.

Hi All,
I have 10.5 years of work experience as a software developer and wish to pursue EMBA, one year full time. Do we have some reservation for women in IIM ?

IIMA PGPX has no reservation for any category.

I have started the application for IIMA.

Is there no recommendation or essay required?

Not officially. However women’s are given advantage as any schools would want to maintain a healthy mix of gender and not many female candidates apply. So you will have an advantage over male candidate.

Alok

Essays come in stage 2. Stage 1 is just to shortlist candidates based on their profile.

There is no LoR required for PGPX.

I am filling in Delhi for interview location as my current location doesnt have a center. The intw dates for R2 are 2-3 Dec at Delhi. Can I request the institiute for  2nd dec if shortlisted?? I have a commitment on 3rd. If they are flexible that way, i could book my tickets well in advance.

Plz advise. Thanks !!!

I don't think you can specify desired interview date in application form. Once shortlisted, you can request PGPX team to reschedule your interview date. They are usually cooperative.
