Need a profile check (male engineer) - pls support!
• GMAT FE score 645, 87 percentile (Quant 100 percentile)
• 4 yrs work ex, Profile: Techno-commercial Project Manager - Strategic Projects (Automotive OEMs), Key projects - project manager for the World's first CNG Motorcycle - Bajaj Auto's Freedom NG04.
• Recommend by the Indian Army SSB (TGC 141)
• 9.04 CGPA in BE Mechanical (Thapar University)
9 CGPA XII standard,
8.8 CGPA X standard.
Should I apply and get an admit for the IIMA PGPx (or ISB)?

Hi everyone,
Got a few queries on DM regarding interview process. Re-posting the replies for benefit of all. Hope it helps.
Interview will commence with the extempore. There would be some folded paper chits with topics written in them, You would be asked to pick one. They will give you an option that if uncomfortable with the first choice, you may take a second choice but then that would be final choice, and you cant go back to the first choice once you have picked up and seen the second chit. They will also give you 2 minutes of time to write down your thoughts before speaking.
My Advice. Go with the first choice if you feel you will be able to speak atleast something in that topic. What they want to see is your response to an unfamiliar situation, what you speak should be generally aligned to the topic and they wont correct you in between for any factual errors. But it is essential that you take a stand for or against the topic, all topics are made as per that, so there would be a 'for' and 'against' side. Be logically firm on your stand and dont give a neutral view. Once they start cross questioning on what you spoke, try to defend the answers with logic, and if you feel what they are saying is right, please accept your error. It happened with me, I accepted and the interview went well. Just take care of general factors like hand movement, body language, speed of speech, diction etc... which I am sure you would already know.
Next part is job related queries, why MBA, what role after MBA, why IIMA etc... it would be completely based on what you have written in your essays, with emphasis on awards and challenges.
My Advice. Only way to get through this round is to brutally honest about your career and aim to join IIMA, and match your present role, and post IIMA expectations. if you are looking at changing career paths post IIMA, be sure why and roadmap ahead. One of the factor is that the B school should be able to place you after you finish the course, so your skill sets and expectations should match with what can actually happen after the course. Just be completely honest, I am repeating the advice, as the professors are extremely experienced and can make out fake answers.
The interview atmosphere is very congenial, they want you to perform to the best ability. Just dont try to say something which you dont believe in or in not true. If you have a contradictory view, present it politely. It would be more of a conversational setting than grilling interview.
