My friends who are travelling to Hyderabad for interview, here are a few hotel options that you might want to check before landing in Hyderabad:
Quality Inn
Aditya Sarovar (very near but costly too)
Ella Hotel
Regenta
Red Fox Hotel (rates are better; around 3 to 4 KM; in hitech city)
Swagath De Royal (around 4 kms; quite economical; many facilities around; easy to access transport like auto, bus, etc.; make sure you select the one in Kondapur; they have many hotels around)
Sheraton Suites (never heard any of my friend booking this one)
Luxor Park (nearly 6 km from ISB; difficult to get any transport)

Then many suites (guest houses) are available around Gachibowli.

Be safe and good luck.

Hi,

I had called ISB Helpline as I was also facing the problem of pgpapp site being inaccessible. They said they will let us know via email.
Do you think I should expect a call with a GMAT score of 650 from ISB? I am from IT backgroun with 3.8 years of experience and i let a team of 10 with less than 2 years of experience from Mexico.. I have a GPA of 3.3
I know I can't keep high expectations with such a low score but I was thinking if my 1 year experience in Mexico and working knowledge of Spanish will make any difference to my profile..

Hahahaha ...
Bribe!!!

You GMAT score may be low, but since you are not from the common IT pool, you can expect a call with good essays :)

I would recommend you to list down all your qualities, achievements on a paper and then prioritize them. Ask your friends and peers/managers to tell about your qualities.
The award may be small or on a small scale, but the if the outcome of the achievement is big, it should be written here.
You can write something of the sort that how your designs helped the organization to make xxx profits. This would showcase the importance of your position in the organization and how have you helped towards the bugger goal of the organization.

Write the most important in Essay 3, and the 2nd and 3rd ones in essay 1.

Essay 2: What you want to achieve, what have you done till now to achieve it. how will ISB fill in the gaps. What after ISB. You have to link answers to these questions for this essay.

Essay 4: You can write any extracurricular activity, how you can bring in diversity in ISB, how you can help ISB and get help from it.
Or any other achievement or hobby which you want to tell the ISB people.

If you have any other queries, you are most welcome to ask those.

Regards,
Ankur

One delhi applicant told his friend got invite for Mohali on 29th i.e Tuesday.
But I seriously doubt it as interviews are never held on Tuesday. Delay in calls is most probably due to temporary technical glitch.
Keeping fingers crossed though.

Hi! You seem to have a good profile but a low GMAT unfortunately. Nevertheless, the silver lining is that a female applicant with a profile similar to yours received an ISB admit with a GMAT score of 610. So if you think you are not willing to retake GMAT, you can still put up a very good application and ensure that your strengths are communicated well. For specific tips on the essays, you may visit our website.

All the Best!

Hi Ankur! A number of our applicants who have received a call this year were interviewed last year as well. So there is nothing much we can read into that.

Thanks a lot for the reply ...

Was consoling myself with the fact that I might not have received the call because ISB people are not yet calling the re applicants :P
Waiting waiting... :(

Worried about the 'one-word' essay before the ISB interview?
It indeed seems difficult when you are given to write/speak about a random word, but think about it as a game where you have to match the given word with as many different things as you can. Then start building on it.

Take Apathy for example. Connect Apathy to everything around you can, right from the apathy that is shown by parents these days to the emotional needs of their children to the apathetic nature of the management in schools and colleges towards the holistic development of students. The apathy that the common man faces from the government it voted for with very high hopes. The apathy that the doctors show when they ask you to first fill in the hospital registration form before they attend to you. Our own apathetic nature to all these anomalies around us and the 'chalta hai' attitude.
Elaborate on these and there will be so much to write that you can go on and on.

Of course the idea of this exercise is just to test your English, but if you are stuck with content, then this technique should help. Someone try 'Oranges' if you can.

All the Best!

Hey...Mohali calls have started to roll out. I just received mine. Although they haven't specified the exact date, they have mentioned that the interviews will be held from Oct30 to Nov5. They have also mentioned that if u want to attend the interview at Hyderabad, you can do that.
