Hi everyone,

I would really appreciate some advice regarding my profile and future plans.

I graduated in June 2025 with two offer letters from leading companies in the quick commerce industry. However, I decided to take an intentional gap year to prepare for a few competitive examinations. Unfortunately, things did not work out as planned. During this period, I also completed some cloud computing and technology-related courses whenever possible.

Now, almost a year later, I am actively looking to transition back into a full-time role. My primary concern is the one-year gap on my profile and how it may affect both job opportunities and future MBA applications.

Profile Overview

Female | 22

Academics

* Class 10: 93%
* Class 12: 97%
* BA (Hons) Economics, Delhi University (2025) – CGPA: 7.65 (First Division)

Internships

* NITI Aayog – Economics Research Intern (Feb 2025 – Apr 2025)
* InterGlobe Enterprises – Finance Intern (Jun 2024 – Jul 2024)
* Metvy – Management Intern (Sep 2023 – Nov 2023)

Leadership & Positions of Responsibility

* President / Head of Organizing Committee, Economics Department
* Technical Head, College Placement Cell
* Placement Coordinator, College Placement Cell
* Research Associate, Global Association of Economic Education India (GAEE India)

Extracurriculars

* Participation in 2-3 social impact and community service initiatives
* Case competition 1-2
* Event management and leadership roles throughout college

Given my profile, I would love to hear your thoughts on the following:

1. What are my chances of securing admission to ISB PGP YL?
2. How would you evaluate my profile overall?
3. What are the biggest gaps or weaknesses that I should work on over the next 1–2 years?
4. For someone targeting ISB in the future, would experience in analytics, consulting, research, strategy, or startups be the most valuable?
5. Considering my relatively average undergraduate CGPA, what GMAT/GRE score should I aim for to strengthen my application?

I would be grateful for any candid feedback or suggestions. Thank you!
What’s done is done Anushka

Now just move on with your story and target a good gmat score first to begin from here.

You are good to go for ISB YL program which requires everything you have plus a good gmat score.

My suggestion,
- Take a job if you can
- Focus on getting good gmat score.

You are a fine candidate on every other parameter. The gap year is just one question that you need to answer authentically when asked.

Hi Adil

i think everything in your profile is decent. Several things are great such as experience of EPC, Gold medal, diversity of experience.

However I am not very enthusiastic about your goals or precisely the explanation behind them at the moment.

With current score ISB, Oxford, SAID and HEC are good to go for but a better score might significantly help for LBS and INSEAD specifically.

Should you need to discuss it more in detail then reach me on DM
