Thank you in advance.
You need a clear post MBA goal and a clear narrative on how PGP/MBA is going to add value. Having said this
You have a decent profile for ISB and IIM 1-year programs, but I’ll be honest, this is not a profile that sells itself automatically. A lot will depend on how well you position your experience and what kind of impact you can show.
The good part is that core engineering/manufacturing profiles are relatively less crowded compared to IT or consulting applicants. Your experience at companies like Hyster-Yale and Vanderlande gives industrial depth, and 5.5 years of experience is in a comfortable range for ISB and closer to the sweet spot for IIM executive programs. The BITS WILP M.Tech also adds some academic credibility.
Where I would be slightly critical is that, based on what you’ve shared, the profile currently feels a bit execution-heavy. “Mechanical Design Engineer” can sometimes get viewed as technical delivery unless there are clear stories around ownership, cost savings, design improvements, cross-functional leadership, client interaction, patents, automation, or measurable business impact.
Also, for IIMA PGPX and IIMB EPGP, post-MBA goal clarity becomes very important. If the goal is simply “move into consulting/management,” it may feel generic.
Academically, things are fine overall. Nothing concerning, but also no major spike that compensates automatically.
