Just Interviewed with a member of Adcom over Skype. R3 Applicant from India. Submitted application on deadline day.
Not a blind interview. He said he noted down some concerns and some key points in his notes.
Pretty Straightforward interview. Questions posted below:
1. Introduce yourself - academic and career progression.
- Followed by: Do you like your job? What do like about it? What don't you like about it?
2. Why MBA? Why now?
3. Short term and Long term goals.
- Follow up question asking to explain the domain I plan to work in.
4. Why Cornell and how Cornell can help me achieve my goals.
5. Explain my Leadership style and experience.
6. How would I contribute to Cornell?
7. If I were to call your supervisor and ask him about you, what would be his response?
8. Finally, would you like me to convey to the Adcom anything you would like to highlight/explain in your candidacy or application?
Edit: Another question I missed previously - How would you make use of the career center at Cornell to achieve your goals?
Queries time. Completed the interview in around 30-31 minutes.
Did well overall, but owned up to a mistake in uploading the wrong file for my TOC essay when asked in num 8 above.
He was very nice about it and asked me to send the right file so the Adcom could review.
Feel good that I owned up for my mistake and sent the right file along with the Thank you note but also worried if I screwed up my chances in an otherwise good interview.
Now wait for the results.
Hope this experience helps you guys. Best of luck.
