Too many date changes, mine changed from 12/05 to 12/06 to 12/07. If I have to speculate, there might be more scrutiny/discussion for borderline candidates, to decide between WL or Ding.

Video essay was introduced last year only, and there were many technical issues. Some folks were not able to submit till weeks later. In nutshell, impact of video essay date change can't be gauged from last year's thread.

I've had the same changes. I think this is completely random now. I doubt they would be viewing these essays on 3 consecutive days and specially on a weekend.

To add to the randomness and one more data point for speculation - my video date has not changed ever since Oct 28, a day BEFORE I received the waiver. And I have not received an interview invite after that. Appears they had no doubts dinging me! Though, it's hard to accept I was so bad in the video they couldn't look at me again

Mine didn't change from last update on 11/19.. For our theory to be credible, both of us should get through! we are not here to verify our theory after 17th right?! Any ideas to check our theory before the 17th? Updates from waived friends are the most important data points!

Hahaha the levels of speculation here is amusing. The date changes whenever they open your online record (for whatever reasons). Everytime I or my friends have written to them with an update about our application (post submission), the date changes. In their own words "we have added this update to your application." ..I doubt they are watching the videos those many times. Btw, did anyone with a waiver receive an interview invite yet?

Well at least it confirms that they are looking at the application on those dates. As I have not send any update post interview.

Yes, this is a good way to kill time But you agree a date change means they are opening the applications? That is reason enough to speculate No invite yet for anyone waived that I know. They have not even opened my application since time immemorial

Wasn't keeping track over the weekend but my date also changed for the first time in awhile. Changed a few times after my interview and was sitting at 11/17 until I looked today and I'm at 12/7 with the rest of you. Really hoping its a good thing.
